    You can pay using a debit card, just read the first couple of pages of the FLR(M) application, below is an excerpt;

    How can you pay?
    You must pay by one of the methods specified below.
    • Cheque (postal applications only)
    • Postal Order (postal applications only)
    • Credit card - Visa (including Electron), MasterCard or American Express (Amex)
    • Debit card - Delta, Maestro* (including Solo)
    • Banker’s draft (payable to the Home Office) (postal applications only)

    Note that the card holder needs to sign in a box provided on the form, its all pretty clear when it comes to paying, the UKVI tend to make it very clear when it comes to paying :) unlike the rest of the application.

    Husband does not have
    Thanks Timmers for the reply.. I thought there was only 2 options options for payments on application by post .My husband does not maintain a checking account so we went to the post office to check on postal order fee and guess what?The maximum post a order we can get is only £250 that means we need 4 pcs.of postal money order @12.50/pc for the FLR standard fee of £811...phew
    We went to Royal Bank of Scotland just around the corner late this afternoon for the bank's draft after we realized we can pay by this.. and that will cost us £20 only...that's a lot cheaper!
    So okay that's ready ,sending it tomorrow.
    And by the way we got stuck on IHS fee when ROYAL BANK SECURE ask for the 5th 7th and 10th letter of the password of Debit card as my husband can't remember it anymore.because he has not used it for ages . AND calls to VISA keeps cut off..for whatever reason, we dont know.It was a hurdle when VISA gave us temporary password and we were able to change it..and i hope we will remember it next time... what a relief when this line was shown. "successfully paid" .
    What a lesson to be learned.
    @Timmers we wiĺ pay the FLR fee with bank's draft...not using any debit card.
    Cheers to all.

    I paid by debit card writing my signature in the box on the form; I was not happy about this and next time I will write a cheque.

    Paid by cheque using joint account. Further evidence of financial unity as well as easy.
