I am just looking in advance if I can do anything to ease FLR(M) application in future. After 33 months on spouse visa in UK, FLR(M) asks for evidence of living together from 3 different sources. If we show joint statements from different banks (e.g. Barclays, Halifax, HSBC), will it be considered same source, as they are all from bank? Any ideas on what's the easiest way to fulfill this requirement?
The easiest way to do it is to have a joint council tax, joint water bill, joint electric&gas bill, joint bank statements. That's already 4 different sources. You can use each source twice to fulfill the 6 joint joint correspondence. That's how I'm doing it.
Elec&Gas doesn't provide paper copy of bills. Water bill is only once a year. So I thought of bank statements. Are different bank accounts considered as same source or different source?
The online statement for electric&gas from British gas is alright and it was accepted when I applied for FLR(M). Our water bill comes every 6 months so that's alright for me. You spread it evenly over the course of 2.5 years. You don't need correspondence every month. I havent actually thought about having different bank accounts (it's not applicable for me anyway). But I will inquire if that's considered same source or not.
FLR(M) form says maximum of 2 years. Is it 2.5 years? ''from the date you first started living together up to a maximum of two years''
"The dates of the items of correspondence should be spread evenly over the whole period you are relying on." This is stated on the FLR form. I said 2.5 years coz that is the validity of my visa and that is what I'm relying on.
I saw a thread on this forum, which talked about opening 6 bank accounts is easiest way to get evenly spaced bank statements, but can't find that thread anymore. If anyone finds that thread, pls post it here
Afterv2.5 years it should be easy. Bank statements, bills, council tax, doctors letters. Get everything you can into joint names and it's done.
If there are no joint correspondences, do we need to explain it on separate sheet? Please give an explanation on a separate sheet if you cannot provide six items; if the items are not addressed to both of you; or if they do not cover the period you are relying on.
I think you can provide correspondence separately as long as they have the same address. My husband and I only have 2 letters addressed to us both - water bill and joint bank account. Some utilities prefer only one person to be the account holder so you can't really force them into adding the other person in there. I don't think the application will be denied just because you can't provide letters addressed to you both.
