I would get more than just a council tax bill. Maybe bank accounts in joint names, your own bank account and as many household bills yo can in both names.

@martian congratulations on getting married !

we are looking at FLR m in may.

reading your post:"council tax with my name and my sponsor on it"

thats nowhere near enough--you need a lot more proof of your wifes address-----see page 62 of 74 in the flr application form

Six items of correspondence addressed to you and your partner at the same address as evidence that you have been living together since your last grant of leave in this category, or from the date you first started living together up to a maximum of two years. See Note 11.
Note 11 The items of correspondence should be addressed to you jointly or in both your names. Examples of acceptable items are listed below. The documents provided must be originals. Photocopies are not acceptable. The dates of the items of correspondence should be spread evenly over the whole 2 years. They should be from at least 3 different sources. If you do not have enough items in your joint names, you may also provide items addressed to each of you individually if they show the same address for both of you. For example - Four items of correspondence in joint names to the same address and two items addressed to each partner at the address. In total eight items would need to be submitted. If you and your partner have no bills or correspondence in joint names, you will need to submit twelve items (six each) of correspondence, evidencing that you reside together at the same address. If you and your partner lived with relatives or friends for some or all of the 2-year period, please provide a letter from the relative(s) and/or friend(s) confirming this. If you did not live together for any part of the 2-year period, tell us the reasons for this and whether you stayed in contact with each other during this time, and provide any relevant supporting evidence. Please give an explanation on a separate sheet if you cannot provide six items; if the items are not addressed to both of you; or if they do not cover the 2-year period.

Not just wedding photos either. You want photos of you together and with family and friends in various locations.

thanks for that informative answer. but how can i provide all sort of proof of addresses if i've been only living here for 3 months? i think that flr (0) and flr(m) have the same application form. i do have my bank statement, nhs letter, and council tax bill. only 3.

Get your name added onto household bills. If your current provider won't do it then change provider.

FLR(O) and FLR(M) are different application forms. Make sure you use the correct one.

It's best to, althoug having said that, we just did a postal application for FLR(M) and all our photo copies were returned.

Better safe than sorry though. It's best to photo copy everything.

We are having the same problem. But the FLR app form says 6 letters from 3 or more sources...so maybe 2 bank statements ? If you can't provide 6 letters to you both jointly...then twice the amount to each of you singly...if that makes sense..

Examples of acceptable items of correspondence • Letters or other documents from government departments or agencies, for example HM Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions, DVLA, TV Licensing. • Letters or other documents from your GP, a hospital or other local health service about medical treatments, appointments, home visits or other medical matters • Bank statements/letters • Building society savings books/letters • Council tax bills or statements • Electricity and/or gas bills or statements • Water rates bills or statements • Mortgage statements/agreement • Tenancy agreement(s) • Telephone bills or statements

I think the answer to this is to get your paper and pen out, and write to some of the above. It doesn't matter what you write, as long as you need a written reply. The more you can accumulate, the better. Think up some query for whatever reason, and their reply to you will provide you with what you need. A letter to your bank enquiring about pension plans or insurance would do - they are sure to reply if they think they might flog you something!

hello guys.. thanks for all your responses.
to give you update with my application, I have received letter from HO but honestly don't understand if I should get Biometrics now or should they send another letter requesting for Biometrics.. as they letter says

    Dear Mrs xxxxxx

Thank you for your application for permission to stay in the UK.
We will decide your application within eight weeks from the date it unless we are prevented from doing so for reasons beyond our control. This could include where:

    * You do not enrol your biometric information {scanned finger prints and photograph) within the given time frame or there is a problem with your biometric enrolment.
    * etc..

We will notify you by letter if we are not able to decide your application within eight weeks from the date you submitted it and will advise you to the new time frame from deciding your application.

    HO

your replies will be highly appreciated. thanks in advice.

You will receive another letter from the UKVI with a reference number and barcode which you can take to a Post Office that does the biometrics, to find your nearest one use the link below.

    http://www.postoffice.co.uk/foreign-nationals-enrolment-biometric-residence-permit

The letter you have received from the UKVI is just an acknowledgement that they have received your application so no need to worry, just double check though to see if there is a reference and barcode. :)

@Maharg will clarify the above, he recently had a successful postal FLR application.
