Well, despite beginning to enjoy and adapting to some of our classic British dishes, Mrs Ash still loves her fresh fish (unlike myself). And today she was given a heap of mackerel from her friend whose hubby was up early fishing locally. Fish on the island here, are a horrendous price. So they are most welcome.

I am told that when he is down there fishing there is usually a large number of Filipinos down there doing the same thing. :D

Do you serve chips with that?

When I stay in Bangkok I regularly buy prepared Japanese style Sashimi (raw fish) from one of the local supermarkets. Normally Salmon or Tuna, though I think that they use Mackerel as well.

Sold in a nice tray on a bed of shredded greens with sachets of Wasibi and Soy sauce included, thank goodness I am reasonably skilled in the use of chopsticks!

Not that easy to prepare from a whole fish though...
