    Hi,

New to the forum and thinking ahead for future spouse visa application we plan to use a solicitor and I was thinking if anyone knows of any genuine and not rip off scam ones in the UK and how much did it help you?
I hear of a lot of scams going around but if we can't get to it then we can use this wonderful very helpful friendly forum.
    Many thanks :)

Unless your situation is a complex one then a solicitor isn't necessary. But if you need some genuine professional help a good Immigration agent isn't a bad idea. We used one ( Immigration agent ) and they were good and knew enough about UK immigration law to be of help to us. Trouble is there are some bad ones aswell as good ones about.

    Thanks Josh,
That's good to know. What was the name of your solicitor company?

I used one bad agency (and failed) then one good agency and succeeded.

The bad agency was Capital Visas.

The good one was Marriage Visa Help.

I'd have to agree with Keith if it's a straight forward Visa application why not just do everything yourself? I mean it's still down to you to do pretty much everything anyhow (collating all the documentation, running around getting stuff notarised, photocopies, etc etc)
