Understood. Same 5 year period as spousal then just that spousal is 2.5 (33 months) then 2.5 FLR

Yep it is. You come in the UK on spousal for 2.5 years then 2.5 years on FLR. I'm on my done and I dunno why but I tend to shorthand when I'm on it unlike the lappy where I sorta explain myself more fully. I sorta adopt a different mentality on the fone

    Hi! Kindly enlighten me, haha

When you submit the documents, the original and photocopies should be separate? How about the Skype logs, messages, photos.... Do I need to have photocopies of these as well? If not, where will I include them? The originals or in the photocopies?

Which docs should have photocopies? Thanks a lot

    Some say all.

We didnt submit photocopies of the Skype logs.

Also, another good reason to send photocopies is to ensure you get the originals back.,

Yes originals and photocopies to be seperated. We didn't have photocopies of the logs just original documents

I want to submit our greeting cards such as birthdays, anniversaries, valentines and etc. Will they give it back even we don't make photocopies? Thanks.

They should return original documents but I'd say photocopy everything anyhow

    Thanks!

    Also, a funny question please.

How do I fill out the application forms like Vaf4a and appendix 2? is it handwritten or do I edit the answers in the computer. Lol.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure they had an appendix 2 when we applied but I've just had a quick look @ appendix 2. Right at the top of the page it says:-

This form must be completed in English. You may use blue or black ink. :)

I'm afraid submitting greetings cards will not add much weight to your application as you could have bought and written them today in the eyes of the UKBA.

If you do send them, photocopy them and they should give the cards back when you get your visa.

Well if they are inside an envelope that has been delivered half way around the world I'm sure it'll have a dated stamp on it. You could in theory apply the same logic to photographs if the truth be known

I think it is better to submit documents to the UKBA that do not cast any doubt what so ever into the Case officers mind. We submitted birthday and annivesary messages that were sent by email and were time and date stamped.

With the photographs I did not have a problem as we had both aged (especially photos with her kids) as we have been together almost 8 years.

Its always a tricky one trying to please the UKBA, more factual evidence with no possible room for doubt is the way to go in my opinion.
