how long does it take to process a civil wedding? I am going to the philippines, how long should I take to allow time for marriage preparation. Is 4 weeks enough to stay and get married?

I arrived in the Philippines on the 1st of December and was married on the 20th, but could have tied the knot 3 or 4 days earlier.
Hi Liza, The timeline depends on the requirements needed by the civil registry. (You can actually do it in less than 4 weeks). Also ask the civil registry where you plan to marry as civil registry offices (both in the province and Manila) have different requirements. Some only need the Filipino fiance's community tax certificate/cedula, birth certificate and certificate of no marriage, the foreign fiance's certificate of legal capacity (which can be obtained from the British Embassy, check Timmer's given link ) and photocopy of passport. Both parties have to present said documents at the civil registry office to obtain a marriage license which will be released 10 days after filing. My hubby only stayed in the Philippines for two weeks and we got married 11 days after he arrived. (All my papers were ready before he arrived). Civil wedding in the Philippines won't cost much time and money. And it is always efficient if the 'wife to be' deals all the paperwork herself (before and after marriage) to avoid errors as correction for errors is time-consuming.
Hi all, Does anyone know if I would need an apostille on my birth certificate in order to apply for the marriage license to get married in the philippines?
It was just about the other blog being reviewed by immigration bods that made me think about it.I was daft to put my name up in the first instance.
