That's a good idea Graham, certainly cannot do any harm, I will do that.

In our case we just got a letter from the landlord to state he was happy with my wife staying at the property (we rent) and on the letter was stated the size and number of rooms. I also included a copy of the letting agreement.

I have done exactly the same but not stated the size of the rooms.

As you've delayed your application anyway I'm wondering if it's not worth getting a survey done. Especially with it being a fiance visa rather than a spouse visa. I think they could be more inclined to look to fail you if you're not actually married yet.

I was told by the visa agency I used when successful that they expect a lot more from you if you're not yet married and was told to get one done.

Also, have a read through this: http://www.expatforum.com/expats/br...8-spouse-visa-refusal-appeal-please-help.html

My understanding has always been that a survey isnt necessary, particularly as the Immigration Advisor we used deemed it unecessary. So we didnt have one done and didnt submit one. Many dont and still get the visa. However, to maximise your chances of getting the visa, undoubtedly a survey would be the best form of evidence.

History has proved that there is more than one way to skin a cat and more than one approach to a succesful visa application. Minimising the risk obviously gives the maximum chance of success.

I would agree it's not entirely essential, but it gives a reason to fail and that is what they might be looking to do - particulalrly if they are nearing their quotas for the day or if you get one particularly picky officer who is having a bad day. At the end of the day we are totally at their mercy and it's best not to take any risks.

aving said that, providing plenty of information yourself with all the details they require would hopefully be enough.

One thing I don't have and I asked for a couple of weeks ago is my new council tax bill from the new council area I have moved to, I will have to call them Tuesday and get the bill sent online, it can only help.
I sent my DHL package off Friday afternoon and I still haven't been able to track it yet which is a little worrying. Customer services isn't open till Tuesday either so I cannot chase it up till then. I think I mentioned that the girl at the office messed the address up, I'm starting to wonder whether she messed anything else up too. Its all stuff I can do without, if I lose the package them I'm in trouble.

I went in to my local Barclays branch, asked them to print and stamp my statements... no questions asked. They did it there and then :)

I wish I had been banking with Barclays instead of NatWest for the last thirty years.

I ended up ordering 6 months of copy bank statements from NatWest, I didn't want to risk submitting online statements without them being stamped, best to do that in my opinion if you are a NatWest customer. We submitted the copy bank statements without stamps and it did the trick.

ive been waiting for my ordered statements for around 2 weeks now - and as my statements and pay slips can be no older than 28 days its causing me issues. im now left waiting for my new payslips and this months bank statements.
    thank you anyway

It took 2 weeks for mine to arrive then 3 days via DHL to get them to the Phils. I know the frustration you must be feeling.

It will all be worth it in the end :)

    It's a thread I missed Timmers.
If they can't satisfy a customer, move to another bank.
    Easy peasy.

I'll be quite honest Mike I'm your typical punter who is just too lazy to switch banks, more recently I had more hassle with NatWest when opening a business account.

I was beside myself when they wouldn't sign my online statements for the visa application, it appears from what I have read here that most other banks will stamp and sign your statements without any bother, just seems to be NatWest and HSBC who are not forthcoming.

The HSBC did it for me. (Business and personal accounts).
If any bank did not stamp statements for me I would create a calm fuss.

I created a fuss in my local branch then created a bigger fuss in a main branch a few miles away but I still had no joy.

Never mind, all's well that ends well as they say :)

Sounds like you didn't create the right fuss. Move bank would be the next course of action IMO. You are a customer.

Very true, Mike, but the reality is that banks seldom treat customers as customers but as a captive market to sell (overpriced financial products) to but not serve.
