I have just heard that no Shengen visa is required for a visit here, for our Filipina spouses on a Spouse visa. Anybody know for sure?

Gibraltar does not require EU nationals to obtain a Visit Visa but Philippine Passport holders do require one which can be applied for at the Visa Section of the London Passport Office (Counter 40). Full details here at the Visit Gibraltar web site.

That was my understanding too. I thought I could take the missus to GIB without any additional requirements. Why would it be discretionary if you meet the requirements that they further outline!

Thats the world of visa for ya.

My work colleague is from Turkministan and she has discovered that whilst on her spouse visa she can visit Gib with her British husband without a Schengen visa.

    Yes. Seemingly so.

I am not certain Mrs Ash will want to holiday there. But if she can travel there without any Schengen shenanigins then she might go for it. It was a real pain in the butt getting her a Shengen visa for Portugal last year.
