thanks aposhark. a bit about my recent life. i met my ( now ) fiancee in oct 2011. she was in the uk--in the last year of a student visa. we ended up living together--till her visa expired in aug 2012. before she went home--she filed for divorce in the uk--( 5 years separation )--thinking it would be valid in the filis. yes--how naive we were. of course--just before she went home--the new rules came into being--and i didnt meet the income requirements. i found all this out when i joined another uk-filipino forum---and got some very helpful advice from a couple of the members on there. so--we were now well and truly apart--and all seemed hopeless. however--i realised my answer to my income shortfall was in savings. i had my own house which i was glad to get shot of--and so i put it up for sale. months went by--and we were in contact most weeks through FB and skype--though it meant a journey for her to the nearest town with internet. she applied for--and luckily got--a visit visa--and came back in july last year. by then her uk divorce was absolute---and i started divorce proceedings against my ex--who was long gone. my house sold in november---and i rented a nice flat--i'm there now. we got engaged on christmas day--romantic or what ! she returned in jan when her visit visa expired. now--ive got the necessary 6 months bank statements showing my savings---and my lady is waiting on her annulment application. thats us up to date. today i got booted off the other forum--because i stood up for another member being bullied and humiliated by the site owner.
I really didn't like that member myself. But, I also don't care for the bullying ways on that site. So all power to you for sticking up for the guy.
thankyou JohnAsh. i couldnt believe i was kicked off with no warning at all. if you read the thread you will see i was polite--but stood my ground. i hope a few other members vote with their feet
I did read a few of your posts, over time. I think you were simply guilty of not agreeing with some of the establishment.
I disagree with people on here all the time, and they're still here to disagree with me time and again.
We started in one guise back in August 2009 when a whole heap of crap happened back on Filipino UK, of course you will never see any of that now on that site as they delete over 20% of their threads.
you have a lot of members. i know threads got deleted--i saw that myself. such a pity--it was a good resource----shame its run by a control freak.
