hi congrats to u... i am new here and planning to apply for a spouse visa i just want to ask what kind of English test should i need to take? Thanks
Hi elizdave, I took the Key English Test (KET) by Cambridge English Language Assessment. I took the exam in Cebu (Cebu British School/ CIE) last October 11, got the result November 7 then the certificate was given on December 5 i think. KET is cheap (P2,520.00)and is very easy compared to IELTS, the only disadvantage is the long wait to get the certificate but if you have time, I suggest you take this exam. Their certificate doesn't have expiration too http://www.cambridgeenglish.org/exams/key/exam-dates/
Please take note of the update of the approved English tests. For applicants taking the English exams on or before April 5th 2015, the test results can be used until November 5th 2015. For more info: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...chment_data/file/405631/selt_transitional.pdf If applicants are planning to apply beyond the stated dates, below is the link for the approved English Language tests updated 20 February 2015. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploa...lish_Language_Tests_and_Test_Centres_v1_0.pdf
Thanks for that update Anne, the last exam before the April 6 cut off date is in March 14, and the registration for the KET exam is a month before the test dates, so I guess you need to do the new one now elizdave.
I'm led to believe that if your English examiner appears in the new (post April 2015) English list, your English test results will still be valid after the Nov 5th cut-off date to use in an ongoing visa application. ...I'm led to believe!
