Good day to you all. You can all call me 'knightstrike' or 'knight', whichever you prefer. I'm not keen to share my real name yet. Hahahah... Anyway, a bit of my story. I'm 26 years old, British by descent through both parents, but I was born here in the Philippines. My father, who has long been deceased, was born and raised in the UK. My mother, meanwhile, is a Filipina who has been naturalised as a Brit way back in 1981. I'm currently applying for my first-time adult UK passport, though I used to have a child passport before. It's taking ages, 14 months so far...
Welcome aboard...... I must admit that I did refuse you entry the first time, as there were 2 pretty similar handles, same IP but different email.... I get terribly suspicious of people with trying to input 2 different accounts... Any way.. Welcome aboard again..........
I thought that I made a mistake with the sign-up the first time since I couldn't post anything. So I made another one. No worries.
Good luck with the Passport. Glad to have you with us. By the way, I know who "Knightstrike" is, and he is OK.
You know how HMPO treats us, those who are residing or born here in the Philippines. They automatically assume that we either made something up in our documents, or we went to the 'University of Recto.' Even if they already have all originals. Even if they could already check up in the internet, for the facts. Even if you already attended their interviews. If they could check up on what you are eating right now, what you will be eating for lunch, for tea, and for dinner; I think they would do so. 'High-risk country' they affectionately call this place.
Understood but if you are still in possession of an expired British passport, under what grounds could the Brit embassy deny you (a Brit national by decent) an emergency PP/travel doc if you decided to request one? Did your parents register you at the embassy? What other supporting docs do you have? Are they actually saying that there is a problem or an issue with your application for an adult PP? If so..What are the issues thus far? Not many people know this but an expired Brit passport can still be used as document to enter the UK from anywhere in the world..An expired passport is sufficient evidence of your citizenship and entry into the UK.. Problem is,convincing foreign immigration officials and check in staff of your rights as a British national..
The late Freddie Clemo once flew into Heathrow and, just for a giggle, he produced his Philippines passport - he was one of three Englishmen who had secured one under a Marcos decree law aimed at giving citizenship to Chinese Filipinos - he had been born in Hong Kong and looked the spitting image of Sir John Mills. The Sikh immigration officer drew himself up, practically saluted and said " Welcome to my country, Sir!"
