I'm a newbie here. I am getting married soon and I wanted to have some clarifications on getting a marriage license here in the Philippines. I hope you guys can help me.
I am a Filipina and my fiance is a Filipino who have acquired a British Citizen thru naturalization.
My question is does my fiance still need to go to the British Embassy in Manila to have an Affirmation and affidavit to Marry since I believe this is the one they issue now which replaces the old Certificate of No Impediment.

Yes, the document is required by the local Registrar and can be either as an Affidavit or as an Affirmation.

Thank you for your reply Markham.:) I was just a bit confused because the list of requirements that the local registrar had given me indicates that if foreigner, my fiance should get the affidavit at the british embassy. What i understand by the word foreigner, "is only for foreigners by blood". Coz my husband to be, is a Filipino by blood but migrated to UK and become a British citizen thru naturalization. And so now its clear that once you've become a citizen of any foreign country you should be required to have that certificate issued by the embassy. Am I right?

As your fiance is not resident in the Philippines, his certification of singleness has to be issued under the laws of the country where he resides; in this case, the UK.
