Perhaps have a forum ladies only chat so the girls can have a chat and this may help those who are home sick etc
Hi Josephine and here. My Filipina wife has bad days too with our two little ones. It is very stressful bringing up children when the husband is sometimes not around like you, and to a lesser extent like my wife. Our 4 year old daughter is in her first year of school and our 3 year old son starts school (20+ hrs a week) in September. I work many hours away from her and I am older than her and am like a zombie at times after long hours at work and not much help at times. My wife has not had any real friends in the 6 years she has been here because she is a private person and does not like chismis with the other Filipinas she has met. Try to make a friend locally or get to know some of the Filipinas who come here. They will tell you how to chat in private. Best of luck
Okay. I asked as living in the country can make it more difficult to meet people. When my wife first moved here we were living in the country. We ended up moving to the town in a central and more lively part where meeting people, for her, was a lot easier. This was important as I am away all day at work.
When the wife came here in Sept 2012 we went into our local Asian food store which was run by a very chatty socially connected filipina. I'd never been prior to that but she was very nice to the wife and she suggested we went to the Filipino Christmas party that was happening in town within a few weeks. We did and the wife met some good friends from that, indeed me too of course (their husbands) and she sees them all the time. So glad we done it. So it can be something a simple as that to initiate good friendships
hi Josephine-----may i ask--do you use facebook ? if so--how about starting your own facebook group---looking for filipina friends near your area ?
I have fb. I'm looking also in fb some pilipino here in maidenhead. Most of them in Slough or reading
My wife met 3 other Filipinas at Hopkins, for the English Language Test. They met up again for their trips to the CFO. And for a farewell meal out before departing the Philippines. Coincidentally one, in addition to my wife, married a man here in IOM. A second settled in Lincoln, but moved to the IOM a year later. ( A third's relationship fell through). The three that ended up in the IOM each have a child within about 6 months of each other. And meetup regularly. Another Filipina friend of my wife's, she met in KFC within a week or so of moving here.
Awwtsuu. Baka sakaling makatulong sa homesickness mo ang pagsasalita ng sariling wika ate. Pwede po tayo mag usap kahit online lang.
