    Hi my name is David
I'm new to this page and just generally threads my friend said it would be a good place to get information.. I'm a 28yr old Man living in Bedfordshire I have a 24yr old fillipina fiancee who currently lives in the Philippines. We met 2yrs ago in the Philippines when I was on a lads holiday and we have both fallen in love. I've been to the Philippines 6times in the last 2yrs to see her I love the country the culture and the food and my fiance of course lol yes there is ups and downs like any relationship and some small things that are made big due to it being a long distance relationship but we have not give up. Il be going back to the Philippines in may 2018 to see her again. I've looked on here and see some helpful information and thought I would sign up to get help and advice and maybe give help and advice aswell .. Take care people

Hi my wife is over here on a spouse visa first stage of FLR we will be applying for the second period in June this year. do you intend to marry soon if so in the Philippines or the UK, marrying in the Philippines would cut out a need for a fiancee visa and you could apply once married for a spouse visa.
Applications for a spouse visa as many will tell you on here are fairly straightforward as long as you meet the financial threshold (18600 without kids coming too) and have somewhere decent to live. There will be other things your GF needs to do which is have a TB test must be within 6 months prior to application and she must pass a very basic English test(A1) there is also a NHS surcharge to pay.
A fiancee visa brings here across with your intention to marry her here in the UK within 6 months of her arrival once married you will then apply for a spouse visa. This adds in an extra layer of visa applications.
Keep us posted we are all here to help

Congratulations on getting your lady here we tryed the tourist visa last year and it was refused we tryed doing it on our own but we failed I was looking to try and do a agency. .did you use a agency or do it yourself? We was going to do the fiancee visa and marry in the UK but what you just told me makes more sense sorry if I'm being thick I have no experience in this other then a rejected visa and I don't understand that much that's why I'm here learning haha I earn over 18,600 a year and we was talking about bringing her kid here in the future but at the moment I'm living with my mum due to family problems will this affect my application? Thanks for your help and time mate

Don't waste your money on an agency. Not necessary. ;)

Visit visas are fairly difficult to get so dont beat yourself up having had a refusal.
Yes we did the application ourselves fairly straightforward and many on here have successfully applied without the use of an agent it really depends on the complexity of your situation.
Living with your mum ...........should not present any issues as long as she is happy(in the application pack she will need to advise by letter she is happy for your gf/wife to live there) and there needs to be adequate room.
Bringing a child over will be a separate application and your income threshold will be lifted to £22400 I think or £22600 one or the other.

Yer you do beat yourself up over it but we was both clueless in it.. It didn't make much sense they said they can see I can support her amd accommodate her but that's not all taken into account.. Then the next reason was they don't think she will return as she don't have no strong ties or property she owns but she has 2 kids.. Then It said they think.she might use 3Rd party funding but at 1st they agreed I can support her it was confusing for us both

Getting the visa is stressful but straightforward if you have all the relevant documentation, check double check and triple check everything, no need for an agent, having kids makes it a little more difficult as you will need to meet the higher income threshold and have proof she is not married and that the kids have no support from the father, other people on here can tell you more on the problems of a father having contact or giving any kind of support to their kids when applying for a visa for them.
Firstly as Big Mac says you need to be 100% sure she has never been married before and only way is for her to get a cenomar.

    .

yep--caught me out when we applied for my wifes son's visa. far more complicated. the onus of proof is extensive--and there are no clear rules or guidelines. we were refused, and needed a solicitors opinion (££££ kerching ) on the reasons for refusal given.

it seems to me the only way to apply for a childs visa is to expect to apply twice ( and pay twice !! )--get refused--and see if the grounds for refusal can be overcome . we were given leave to appleal...but solicitors cost and the time factor means its quicker and less eye wateringly expensive to apply again.
in our case--the process of overcoming the refusal starts with my wife flying back over there--again--in a few weeks---- to start to organise the papertrail.

its my honest opinion that anyone applying to bring a child over following the mothers spouse visa should use an immigration solicitor if the childs' father is known to be alive.
