Greetings from an Aussie married to a lovely lady from Misamis Oriental in N-E Mindanao. Mostly known as Jess, my beloved Grace affectionately calls me Fatty Fatty, hence the forum name. Grace arrived here in Melbourne (well, 110 K's S-E of it) 3 weeks ago, so it's a bit like starting our marriage from scratch all over again.

Looking forward to sharing ideas and stories with my Pommy brothers, and hoping a few of you will come over to the sister site Living in the Philippines Forum.

This pic was taken at the sunken cemetery on Camiguin island province on 10th July, about a month before Grace came here.

From where I am standing I couldn't care less if you use some of them as croc bait............

Since you lot toughened the entry rules to Oz, we don't have anywhere to offload crims to..............

G'day Jess and a warm welcome here.

Hope your Grace is settling down well. It can sometimes be a little difficult.

I spent a couple of years living in Ballarat which is just outside Melbourne. Had a great time there and certainly learned about being a 'pommey'

Best wishes for a great future together.

Thanks Micawber. Yes we have a tough road ahead but as Grace says "aja kita" - we fight (as one). She is getting over the massive homesickness she had in the first week, and starting to see beyond missing her family and friends. We live in a small rural town surrounded by farms, about a hundred yards from my brother and his wife, and Grace is feeling a connection already, is coming out of her shell and realising that people do in fact understand her English (she was worried people wouldn't and was very quiet at first).

Ballarat's a top little town but a bloody cold place... they often get snow there in winter.

You realise now (since having lived here) that we're cut from the same cloth, we have the same sense of humour, which is mostly too obscure for our American brothers, although strangely we understand theirs perfectly.

I think I'm going to like this community.

Judging by this and your DK reply you seem to have an axe to grind. Forget it I'm here to make friends.

How very clever of you. I had no idea this was the same forum in which Pete from New Hampshire attacked me almost a year an a half ago, an attack based purely upon the fact that I respect and defend my wife's Catholicism, and her right to practice that which brings her such profound peace of mind. I simply ceased posting that time too, unwilling to entertain a two-dimensional simple-minded fool. Do you share the same respect? Apparently not, based on this dark reply, in lieu of any form of greeting or welcome.

Well I have no time nor desire to answer small-minded highly negative people searching through archives in an attempt to make a fool of someone, and done with such apparent self-satisfaction... there's 10 minutes you'll never get back.

Sorry Kuya, once again I bow out, too many trolls here.

Jess I hope you stay this time, Sean changed the name last year because a better one became available, this UZI chap has posted very little in that time.

Trolling is not something that happens here as a rule, in fact apart from the 2 occasions that we have had an influx from elsewhere (apart from the creation of this forum) there has been little if any animosity.

Why would I greet you again Jesse, we did that over a year back. My point was Keith (and you it seems) forgot that. As usual though you overreact to everything. I don't contribute much here or on any forum anymore because of so many Jekyll & Hyde personalities.
