We worked it out yesterday as just paid for ILR £4500 we reckon £10k visa fees approx plus 3200 NHS plus exam fees approx £500 plus flights hotelsetc
The absolute disgrace of this country shows... Pay a surcharge but cant even see anyone from any profession from the nhs... Makes me sick to be honest and yet it goes up...makes my blood boyle
You have to pay a surcharge.. So your wofe can use the nhs... The fact... We cant use the nhs.. For near enough anything right now.. Is a joke... So whats the need of a surcharge? My wife has been suffering toothache for last 5 months.. Dentist literally told me... Call us back when her teeth are near falling out... Nhs as a whole is a disgrace... I knew that... But the fact they are charging us for basically nothing is just pathetic
Philippine health are system is far worse, we are the envy of a lot of countries, we even have NHS tourists coming in for treatment, thank goodness for the NHS
You pay but its cheap those.. And you can atleast get see a doctor or dentist whenever you want those... Instead of getting told lose your teeth etc then make appointment
Dental problems can kill you, an untreated abscess can kill, but the reality right now is that I could not get a dental appointment even if I really needed it. My dentist, the poor bloke, will be in real financial trouble by now, he was a young lad I hope he is still on furlough and getting some income, and he was treating me as an NHS patient. Luckily I got all the major treatment I needed between 2017 and late 2019, last time he was impressed about how well I was looking after my teeth, and for me that is the important thing now to make sure that nothing happens that would require treatment. Your wife is not alone, no one can get dental treatment easily right now.
Sorry there are better links but I can't find them right now. https://metro.co.uk/2020/03/11/migrants-face-620-annual-fee-use-nhs-shameful-budget-move-12384086/
I was told by the husband of a dental receptionist last week that emergency treatment is done now, not check-ups?
current rates total £3120 over a 5 year visa in 2 lots, 1 at the start of the journey and one at the second application but not at ILR Here is the UKGOV link https://www.gov.uk/healthcare-immigration-application/how-much-pay
That's probably true right now, I had my check-ups cancelled by the practice and that left me with the impression that treatment of any kind was out of bounds. I hope my guy is back at work, banning check-ups reduces the traffic through the waiting rooms and that is a good thing right now.
