daylight robbery--extortion--imposed by the BBC, and upheld by goverment. every household who uses a tv has to pay it--or face possible imprisonment. this still applies EVEN IF YOU CANT GET BBC.

I have 'opted out' now... using the Licensing website.

I only use the TVs with my Xboxes. :like:

what really grated with me--was when i found i could pay monthly---which i was prepared to do---it turned out each month cost DOUBLE for the first 6 months---so the whole year was paid for in those 6 months---BUT--i had to carry on paying each month from then on. so--in the first year i paid 18 months licence fee! there after i was always 6 months ahead.

and the notion that the BBC doesnt have adverts--is rubbish. they show lots of old programmes on the digital channels--like dave--complete with adverts !

I had a guy from TV licensing at my door a few years ago. He had been watching us from across the street it seemed. He said, “do you live here”, I said yes.

He said a bit more sternly, “it’s about the occupier next door”. “He hasn’t paid his TV license for a long time!” “I’ve knocked at his door but he isn’t answering” he said pressingly.

I said, “well he died about six months ago”. Which he had. True story. The old boy lived on his own and had passed away some months back, not having kept up his license fee payments in the afterlife.
