Welcome Shaun, looks like you have a lovely family there, if you need any help just post the question, don't be afraid to ask silly questions because I've asked them already
thanks all and yeah i be asking for sure ...i am soon will be applying spouse visa and im self employed do i need qualified accountant to do my tax return or can i still do it myself i always done my own returns every year past 6 years ,this my year/ i earned very well last year to meet the requirements ,,,
Hi Shaun and welcome here My wife received her spousal visa back in 2008 and I was, and still am, director of a Ltd. Co.. It was not necessary to have an accountant for me. I just produced the necessary paperwork myself to assist my wife's application.
@Maharg will give you some pointers on this, I am self employed too and purposely didn't become self employed before my wife's visa was granted. You will have to prove that you meet the £18,600 financial requirement, you will need to submit a years worth of financial documents as opposed to the usual six months if you are in salaried employment. You need to show that you have been paying tax (SA302 form) and you will have to show dividends that have been paid. I assume you are like me and pay yourself just £883 per month and so on and employ creative accounting I don't think its a big deal getting the paperwork sorted out if you are self employed but you need to start off on the right footing. As I mentioned, a pleasant chap called Maharg will come along in a while and give you some details. The form below is the financial side of the application;
thanks aposhark and Timmers for answer .i am sub contractor and i work for few companies and get monthy CIS statements and pay my 6 months national insurance . ,,i have made more then the £18,600 financial requirement that no issue its just knowing if doing my own tax returns is ok for the spouse visa application i will be sending proof all my accounts and past 3 years tax years and statements and proof im self employed as sub contractor thanks all for answers
I'm quite sure that your own tax returns will suffice, if they are good enough for the HMRC then they should be good enough for the UKVI. I think you're in a good position getting CIS statements and the like, there is more consistency to your accounts than, lets say mine
You will be able to help me once you've been through the visa process as being self employed, when we apply for the next FLR I will have to submit similar paperwork to you. Its all about "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours"
Having an accountant would help a you would have added documentation in the form of getting him to write a letter. Submit full accounts. Two financial years is better than one. Plus SA302, tax return and HMRC statements of payments. Get an NI statement too. At lest the last 2 financial years. Plus business bank statements at least back to the start of the last financial year, ie April 2014. Plus your self employment registration. I think that's it!! There's much more to show if self employed.
Hi The financial requirement is greater than £18600 with a dependant under 18 if your daughter is coming across too. Good Luck
