Hi all, not sure where to start so will just dive straight in with my question. A complicated situation but I have two half sisters, both minors, now living in the UK after the sudden death of our father. I need urgently to get PSA copies of their birth certificates - certified copies are not acceptable - and have discovered that the PSA no longer offers an overseas courier service, so delivery time is currently 8 - 12 weeks. Does anyone know of any reliable agencies over there which would be able to obtain the certificates and courier them over to me? Thanks in advance, Phil
Would family or friends in the Philippines not be able to help you and DHL the certificates over to the UK?
Do you have any address in the Philippines you could have them sent to? Then you could just use DHL to pick them up that would be the easiest way of you have. Otherwise I don't know of any agencies hope you get it sorted
Thanks for all the replies. Unfortunately there are no contacts in the Philippines otherwise it wouldn't be such a problem. Didn't know we could have items sent to/from the DHL centres Steve77. That might be the way to go, so will look into it.
It's only special delivery sent overseas that's no longer available, but you can get it sent overseas by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost).
If it can be done 3rd party this is your guy, did you mean NSO ? https://www.facebook.com/paul.whiteway.7?fref=ts http://www.cebuexpatservices.com/
I think the problem may be insurmountable. If you order from overseas you can pay by credit card but any certificate can only then be delivered overseas - you cannot have it delivered to a Philippines address. If ordered within the Philippines, you cannot pay by credit card, you have to go to a Philippines bank to pay and the document can only then be delivered to a Philippines address; the recipient has to sign for receipt and provide proof of relationship to the person named on the birth certificate.
Hi , I assume that your half sister's are British born in the Philippines. If they are , their situation maybe similar to my daughter who was born overseas but she has a british birth certificate. I did remember that when we applied for her passport in Thailand I have been informed that her birth will be registered in the UK. Upon receiving her British Passport , we received her "new" birth certificate as well.( a certificate from the british consul certifying that it is a true copy of an entry in a register. Before anything else, why not try if their birth has been registered here?
