Well, we had a harder job than you as we had just a few months worth of Skype and YM logs. We submitted a representative one for each week. Made sure there wasnt anything in it slagging off the UKBA and stuff like that and filtered out any arguments that we had along the way and cherry picking out the more romantic examples. :D Didn't really submit a phone account, not to speak of, but then we rarely used the phone.

We did use a reputable agent and they said don't bother with birthday cards as it doesn't carry any weight with the ECO's. So we didnt bother with that sort of thing.

Yours is a good headache to have as you have "too much" to choose from. :D Which shouldn't be a problem at all.

Yes, we got married in the Philippines so we didnt have this problem, but proving intent to marry isn't easy as getting confirmed bookings when your fiancee isn't in the country is very difficult, so I gather. Anything that proves intent is whats required eg enquiries on bookings or deposits put down. If all done by email or letter then it goes in the pot as evidence. Receipts for engagement rings. Enquiries about wedding cake and church or registry office and wedding reception etc etc etc.

My confidence is starting to grow regarding the application, I hope that's not a bad thing. Initially when I looked into the matter I found it a little daunting and found myself going round in circles on the UKBA website. I feel now that I have an all round understanding of whats happening and what is required. My early advice to anyone starting this process is to relax and take your time perusing the relevant sites like this one and the UKBA sites and trying to absorb and note down all relevant information. I have found that after time things start falling into place and that you begin to get a good picture of what is required. I also think that its important that you work as a team with your loved one in the Philippines to achieve your common goal.

My personal thoughts about having to get married to my loved one within 6 months of entry really does take all the romance out of it, for me it really does. I feel like I'm being forced into it and it wont be as enjoyable experience as I had wished. To sort of counteract my feelings I'm planning on having a really romantic honeymoon. Maybe I will feel differently when the day comes.

I'm wondering if this is a common feeling for all of us here, I would like to know your feelings on the matter,

    Cheers

Its easy once you know how.

Yes, it will be a team effort. The applicant and sponsor put into the application in equal measure. Our job is to collect all of the material relating to to our part of the form filling and get it over to the Philippines and then the wife /fiance completes the form filling and takes the finished article into visa. Future hubby pays for it and future wifey sweats through the English Language test etc etc.

Yeah JohnAsh I'm not looking forward to the wait when application is submittted.

You've just reminded me of something I wanted to ask you.

Can the good lady get a letter from her old Uni stating she has done degrees in the English language, will this do instead of the English test?

Well, this goes along with the UK Naric thing. Give them a bell. Tell them your ladies degree and where she gained it and they should be able to confirm either way if it is indeed reconised by them as on a par with a UK degree. If so then she should get dispensation from the English Language Test. But you need to check with them.

The UKBA state that it needs to be recogbnised by UK Naric as equivalent to a UK degree and taught in English. Could you imagine a degree in English not being taught in English? LOL.
