Hi! My name is Love, I'm applying for a settlement visa in UK. I'm currently here in the Philippines and I'm studying too. (I'm currently in my 3rd year in college)

My parents and siblings are already in London and I'm the only one who is left here in the Philippines since I'm studying.

    And my questions are;
    1. If my visa is is approved, how long can I still be here in the Philippines?

    2. Can I still continue studying here even my visa is approved? Or do I need to go to UK immediately?

    Hoping for your response!

    xx

    -Love

What kind of settlement visa are you aiming for?

I'm settling there for good. My visa form code is VAFA4.

I'm currently studying now and I'm still not ready to leave the Philippines but my visa is already passed to the embassy and I'm just waiting for the result.

    Presumably a Family Visa.....

It is the same form that my wife filled out. In her case the visa was for 27 months. I believe the extra 3 months allowed her flexibility on her actual travel data.

With the latest of this type of visa they are now issued for 33 months so similarly there is 3 months leeway on what is a visa for 2.5 years (30 months).

It might be worth checking this with VFS. Just send them an email or call them by phone or call in if you are close to Makati.

When do your studies finish in the Philippines?

This appears to be quite recent. April 1st in fact. They appear to have webchat which might prove very useful.

I am not sure if it is the same with all visas but I know with my wifes spouse visa she effectively had a certain number of days to commence using it. I have forgotten exactly how long. I know she didnt actually enter the UK for about 2 weeks after the issue date of the visa, which was well within limits.

So do I really need to leave as soon as possible? (In 3 months time after the approval?) or I can still stay here for a while and leave the philippines anytime as long as my visa is still valid?

My school year will end in March and I'm planning to finish it first before leaving...

Sorry for my late reply, and thank you for your answers.
