Hello all. My wife is currently trying to fill in the application online, for a Spouse Visa. The problem is once she logs in, the only options are for visitors visas. Even the one closest to her needs is Marriage Visitor Visa. But no Spouse Visa. The new format started on April 6th 2017.
https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome Did you do it there? Fill in the information needed and the purpose of visits will show up. Settlement-settlement-wife that's the breakdown.
Thanks Brom. Getting there slowly. It states that copies of originals must be submitted with the application. Do the copies need to be attached to the originals, or as a separate file? Martin.
Make two separate stacks. One for the original and the other for the photocopies. Read this. This might help. http://www.british-filipino.com/ind...re-documents-for-submission-settlement.13699/
Cheers Brom. Others on here will want to know that the spouse visa fee jumped up by £300 odd pounds very recently. My wife applied online and couldn't pay! Luckily I have 14 days to get the extra out to her.
At present, my wife has printed out 6 reams of chats. So they have to be copied also? The pile is about 12 inches deep. Or copy only original supporting documents?
You copy documents that you want to get back like marriage certificate, bank statements and other important docs. Things like chats and tickets, you don't need to photocopy it.

And yet more questions. I assume there won't be a problem with my wife's passport still being in her maiden name, when she leaves Manila airport, as all her documents are in her name anyway. Also, she is concerned that immigration will look for a reason to stop her leaving, despite me assuring her she will have every single document required. This includes all my documents in addition to the normal ones they will need to see.
She won't have problem with her maiden name. As long as she got the visa and the CFO sticker on her passport there's no reason why the Immigration will not let her through.
Thanks, I keep telling her this. She keeps digging up links about things that will stop her leaving. She wants to get all the copies notarised
once she has her visa--she will be able to enter the UK the CFO sticker is obtained after she gets the visa--which permits her to leave the filis. it has no relevance to UK immigration.
Tell her the law in ph doesnt require a married woman to change to her husband's last name. She can keep it all her life in ph and no can dispute that (its in the 1986 family code of ph). I have a very good friend whose mother is a lawyer and is using her maiden name in all court proceedings, passport and visa despite being married. I have asked her why (i thought she was a single mom or my friend was illegitimate since his dad /her husband was there) and she explained it to me like a lawyer. Of course it is easier if you have everything already in married name but its not a requirement.
