Hi, I married my transgendered male to female partner in march at the british embassy in Manila. We are now ready to apply for a visa for her to come to the UK to live with me. We are having problems as to which category of visa we apply for, she took her papers to the VFS Global centre last week but we had put Settlement - Wife as the category and the staff said it would be rejected as Wife was for female only so she withdrew before biometrics so we could apply for a refund. They said we should apply under settlement - Civil Partner, but I just wanted to check and see if anyone has had a similar experience as theoretically it could be Settlement - Husband as well, we are not strictly speaking Civil Partners but legally married in UK Law. Can anyone please clarify which category we apply under.

@OrB may be able to help you, wait to see if he posts, he is in the process of applying for a UK settlement visa and married his same sex partner at the British Embassy in Manila.
