Hello to everyone. My girlfriend is working as a private assistant nurse in Romania . Due to difficult work conditions that she's been trough for a year now . I would like to get her with working/student visa here in UK . I'm looking for explicit info as : Tier 2 visa. Work agencies. Employers. Diploma conversions . Can anybody guide me on how can i help her ... Thank you . (any other advice than marriage is welcome ... )
Sorry for not mentioning that she is a Philippino national and she has a working visa in Romania ... How she ended up there ... Don't ask
Hi and welcome to the forum, as you will have probably realised, securing a job as a nurse is not as easy as it used to be for Philippine Nationals. She would probably have to inquire through a Philippine nursing agency to see what her chances are. Any particular reason why marriage is out of the question if I may be as bold to ask? She would stand a much better chance of finding a nursing job if she was legally here under a settlement visa.
I'm not an UK national . Why should we have the same hassle with wedding when working or studying visa are more rewarding for her . No offence to other members ;-)
And yes ,thats why im here looking for info about any trusted work agencies UK based or Philippines etc ...
Does it have to be the UK where your GF finds work or study? The reason I am asking that is because I know there are more nursing opportunities in the Middle East, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi. Some of my Filipino relations have worked there as nurses, better money (tax free), and good places to live and lifestyle especially UAE, Bahrain and Oman. Romania is no place for a Filipina, especially seeing that she is your girlfriend. Just a few thoughts, sorry I cant give you any specific help.
Can we assume that you an EEU Romanian and living in Romania with your girlfriend? If so, you may want to explore the possibility of you both coming to the UK under European rules. I am not entirely sure if it is applicable in your case but if it is you could both come to the UK to live without requiring a visa for either of you. Aromulus knows more about this than me.
Thank you guys . I'm Italian working in Scotland . European rules applies to me but not to her . There is no way she will go to Saudi,I'm afraid ... Can we stick to my plan ?
@Anne may be able to give you some pointers, she is a lovely nurse and a highly regarded member here, just wait for her reply.
Hello Andrea. Welcome to British Filipino. The NHS is now hiring Filipinos in Manila but I'm not sure how it goes if the applicant is currently working abroad. If one has to work as a nurse in the UK, he/she has to be registered with the Nurse and Midwifery Council (NMC). http://www.nmc-uk.org/registration/ Below is from the information sheet NHS provided during their Open Day in Cheltenham. Here are the steps for registration with NMC: 1. Language Requirement Applicants must be able to show that they can communicate clearly and effectively in English. You must complete the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of at least seven (7) in all areas. There are no exceptions to this requirement. NMC will not accept IELTS test results that are more than 2 years old at time of registration. www.ielts.org 2. Eligibility You must complete a self-assessment of their eligibility to apply prior to beginning the application process. (FYI: The self-assessment is similar to the United States' CGFNS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools) examination with a high fail rate. NHS is currently conducting tests in Manila, unfortunately no one has yet to pass. ) 3. Test of Competence- part one This is a computer based test of theoretical practice-based knowledge and is multiple choice. You can have 2 attempts bit if unsuccessful you can't re-take it for 6 months. Test are organized by Pearson VUE www.pearsonvue.co.uk 4. Assessment The following documents are needed: ( full list available from NMC website) > Valid passport > Birth Certificate > Qualification certificate > Registration certificate > Employment references 5. Test of Competence - part two This is an objective-structured clinical examination (OSCE). Test is administers by the University of Northampton. The OCSE will simulate a clinical environment and patient scenarios with candidates circulating through all 6 stations within a set timeframe. 6. ID Check Applicants will have a face-to-face ID check and bring all original documents. This will take place at the OSCE location. 7. Final Registration On successful completion, you will be invited to complete your final declaration and payment for registration online. Once both have been received, NMC will send the registration number (PIN). Next Step NHS Jobs www.jobs.nhs.uk If you opt for student visa, here is the link from UKVI https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/sponsor-workers-students Hope this helps.
