Many thanks for all the welcomes and advice :like:, yeah I am an irish citzen married to a fillipino , my wifes daughter wants to join us here, ( she is under 21 -just about ) applying by the EEA family permit route , but her application keeps getting rejected as she has put down that she wants to return to the Phillipines in 6 months which she does to finish her studies, they tell her its a family visit visa she needs . I,m thinking  if she makes a new application and not mention aanything about going back it will be accepted. But I thought she was allowed to return and come back again on the family permit , Anybody got any ideas :erm:

Many thanks for all the welcomes and advise :like:I am Irish and married to a fillipino , my wifes daughter would like to join us here -she is under 21 -just about- she has applied a couple of times for the EEA family permit but her application keeps getting rejected because she has put down that she wants to return in 6 months to finish her studies which she wants to do , they keep telling her its a family visit visa she needs to apply for . I thought she was allowed to return after 6 months for a period of 6 months on the family permit. :erm:
I am now going to advise her to make a new appplication and not to mention returning after 6 months . Anybody got any ideas ?:)

    Ok, lad...........

The problem is very simple, you both have overlooked the fact that the "Family Permit" is valid for six months....
Within the six months, your wife is supposed to apply for her "Residence Card", and it takes a long time to get the passport back....:erm:
It does say that it takes at least six months, and believe you me... It does, as we went through the rigmarole ourselves, and were stuck and couldn't go abroad for a break at all...
Unless they kept her passport for six months on purpose.... Which wouldn't surprise me in the least...:erm: I was lucky enough to get mine back after writing directly, as I couldn't go to work to Ireland otherwise.

So ideally, get your good lady to finish her studies before she gets over, and problem solved.

In the meantime make a knot on it and behave,....;)

I'm sure Dom will answer your question properly when he figures out his mistake :) unfortunately not a question for which I know the answer.

What the heck... May be I indulged a bit too much, I didn't realize what i was reading....:erm:

    Sorry po....

    Same story, really....

She needs to be here before her 21st birthday...

Wait for her residence card to be issued for 5 years, and then she can go back and forth, as many times as possible, provided she doesn't stay out of the country for more than 90 days in any one year.... Which is going to spoil the education part anyway...
Unless you can enrol her for courses here in the Uk.
