An LDR can be challenging and imo demands trust and patience. My own was longer than most but worth all the effort.

What is makati like? It looks like a nice city, she said we should go to bohol which looks great, has anyone been there and makati?

Makati is a posh district of Manila, the commercial centre, heavy traffic.

Bohol is known for the chocolate hills;

It's an hours flight from Manila to Bohol but I've never seen any flights landing at tagbilaran airport (Bohol). So maybe land at Cebu and a fastcat boat (about 40 mins) to Bohol.
