Hi there from Thailand.

    I have joined this site in order to get some help and knowledge from someone who has gone through a similar problem to which I am about to go through. As you can see I live in Thailand, I live with my Filipina gf and after many years I have to return to the UK in a few months. How do we live together in the future? Is it easier if we go to the Philippines and get married there and then she join me in the UK? Or is it better to get her on a fiancé visa from the UK? I look forward to hearing from someone who has been in the same situation.

    Welcome to British Filipino Clivemh, all the options you have mentioned are fine, its whatever suits you really. Whether you are married or still just partners the Fiancé visa and spouse visa are almost the same. The spouse visa does have one advantage that your then wife could seek employment when she arrives in the UK as opposed to waiting to get the FLR if she arrives on a Fiancé visa.
