Just an idea of how you all met your spouses or girlfriends and boyfriends. How long you've been a member of a dating site before you met your loves and got married? Like to hear some nice stories
Hi Nick34! Though I am not one of the members of any dating site, I will share our story. My mum and mother-in-law are classmates and best friends since primary school, got pregnant on the same year in 19...erm.. We had baby pictures together that my husband kept for years. We attended a year in high school on the same school and never talked to each other though our mothers are friends. We kind of lost contact because he and his mum migrated here in the UK. Until one of the many vacations they've been in the Philippines, our mums introduced us to each other (again). Nine months after that, both of our mums were surprised seeing our relationship status in Facebook as "married"-- we did it just to humour them and the relationship became serious. He calls me everyday with no fail and in my part have to adjust the time difference. If you can only imagine, I wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning just to talk to him. It lasted for 4 years (2 years visa preparation) until we got married 2 months ago. How about you? What's your story?
That's a lovely story. Well I sadly split up with my Filipina girlfriend this time last year due to not always seeing each other and her parents not agreeing with us and we fought hard for our relationship but just didn't work out. It was sad for both of us but we moved on now. She got a new boyfriend in the Philippines and me I searched on Christian Filipina and in June last year I met a lovely Christian Filipina where we've been chatting since June and we're both so excited to meet each other this coming year. I plan to go over to the Phils and be with her for a few weeks. I feel much happier and blessed. She's a worship leader at her church and she's a great girl of God. I pray that one day in perfect time we get married and she can come and live in the UK without any problems. I really enjoyed your story God bless all of us on here
Thanks! Glad you found a lovely lady. Hope the both of you will hit it off once you meet each other. Is the Christian Filipina a dating site? Where in particular would you go in the Philippines? Wish you all the best
Salamat din ading. Yes it's a dating site but actually we were introduced by a friend and funnily enough we were both on the same dating site Christian Filipina. I would go north to the province in Alaminos Pangasinan, Manila and Cebu. She's from San Mateo Rizal.
Oh, it's good you're learning the 'pangalatok' way of speaking. Though I've never been to Pangasinan, I heard a lot of good stories about it and I'm sure you'll enjoy Cebu. Just take extra care in taking public utility jeepneys.
I met my wife online back in 2009.. Spoke daily on Yahoo Messenger, Facebook and stuff. Then I flew out to meet her 3 months after we met online. I was taken aback by her when I arrived in the Philippines, though very beautiful I was surprised at how small she seemed (which I now know as a common first impression by westerners with a Filipina). However, Joy was also a beautiful person and I got to meet and emjoy time with her family as well. To this day I regard my wife's maternal grandfather as one of the nicest men I have had the pleasure of meeting. Long story short, we continued to have an online relationship until we married in 2012. It's been stressful, but worth it..
I met my wife in a karaoke bar in Dubai in 2007, taken till 2014 to finally get her to the UK. Lots of trips to Dubai and Manila.
I was recommended by her sister while working in the Netherlands, back in 2001. We wrote to each other, then I invited myself over to meet her. We went to Manila to get a fiancee visa, then she came to England to get married. Now 12 years later, back in the Philippines. Oh well, that's life.
I had known my fiancée's sister for five before Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) struck. It was the typhoon that got us in contact with each other. Exactly four weeks to the day after that typhoon, my house suffered a tidal flood from the River Humber. The day after that flood I went into acute urinary retention which lead to a diagnosis of prostate cancer. It was only after an operation in July 2014 that I was able to travel to the Philippines and we got engaged on 8 December 2014. I go back in March this year to get married. The start of 2014 was the worst time in my life; the end of 2014 was the best!
Pangasinan Just beautiful and the air is fresh. Spent two very memorable days there last year with an aunt of my girlfriends. This is San Leon swing bridge which the girfriend tried to rock unsuccessfully as she's about 7 stone and her cutting shapes in her cousins new house in Pangasinan
I met my wife in the Philippines on a scuba diving trip back in 2008. She was a waitress in a nice restaurant on Malapascua island off the north tip of Cebu island. I had visited the Philippines for scuba diving many times previously. We married later on that same year and I had to go back there to accompany her to Manila for her spouse visa application. I went back in 2009 to collect her for her trip to the UK. She is now a British citizen. We have two beautiful kids - a daughter then a son. We will not be going back to the Philippines for quite a few years due to the difficulty of getting to my wife's island which can be over 4 hours if the waves pick up. Travelling around the Philippines is too much with little ones in tow.
In a bar in Makati - friend I was with said "That one is gorgeous"! We have just been doing some travelling round the Philippines with a sprog - we set out from Mindanao to Negros with one stepsprog and one mother in law and came back with the same plus an increasing number of live chickens. Brother in law in Canlaon wanted to present father in law with the next gallicine Paquiao, and when we called on great aunt in Dumaguete, more were added. Then we had to spend a night in Dipolog... and chose the rather up market D'Hotel - tipped the security guard to care for the fowl...
