Hi, me and my fiance are getting closer to applying, and ive been holding off getting documents like the letters from my landlord, employment contract, letter from employer etc, because i'm unsure of how recent they need to be. We hope to apply in around 6 or so weeks, but I know things can become delayed so it could end up being much later. I know about my payslips and bank statements needing to be as recent as possible, but what about the other supporting documents like the letter from my employer or landlord? Ive looked around but cant seem to find an answer, I think I should be fine on these documents if they are a few months old when we apply right? (not sure though haha) Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks
You can always ask the letter from the employer to be pre-dated, that's what I did, the landlord letter I wouldn't worry too much about but you could do the same, just make sure your tenancy agreement has at least six months to run at the time of application to cover the six month Fiancée visa. I wouldn't submit anything that is months old. The financial information you submit needs to be current as you are already aware, payslips/bank statements to be no older than 28 days at time of online submission.
Thanks a lot, I didnt think of that. I'll ask them to predate it. And yes I understand the payslips being within 28 days of online application. Just trying to get my head straight with everything and start actually producing the documents we need haha
Just take your time and get the application right, proceed with haste repent at leisure as the saying goes Good luck.
create an online a/c--have a few trial runs with the form--just dont submit till your 100% happy with it. you can always scrap it and start another. https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/home/welcome
you can both access it and fill it out online together--took us about 4 weeks and several scrap and start agains. you can fill it--delete it--save it--play around till you got it exactly right. ask here anything youre not sure of--i did.
