Jeremy Hunt has been accused of being “asleep at the wheel” while a private firm co-owned by the Department of Health built up a backlog of over 700,000 pieces of medical correspondence it never delivered to GPs.

The health secretary was summoned to the House of Commons to answer questions from MPs after a damning National Audit Office report found that the scandal may have harmed the health of at least 1,788 patients and had so far cost £6.6m.

Willifully inept Tory who produced a pamphlet in favour of greater privatisation of the NHS.

Truly a snug, unctuous, incompetent - who is presiding over the disintegration of the NHS

    Vile idealogue.

    I blame the nurses.

Protected public sector payscales and benefits.

According to @Bluebird71 they spend all their time at the foodbanks, nicking food from the deserving tramps and poor people who have fallen through the comprehensive "safety net" of our modern society.

I see it's been a bit chaotic today with some cabinet members hinting at an end to pay caps, only to be told that it is austerity as usual.

The Labour movement to end pay caps to our nurses and fire fighters was voted down by 313 Tories. They were ably backed up by a DUP party that had already secured an end to austerity in their part of the Disunited Kingdom. Some suggest they would be voting with the Government even without the £1.5bn bribe! Ouch!!!!

If May wants to cling onto power, perhaps a gesture to end the 7 year pay cap (during which time salariés in the public sector have dropped by between 10 and 14 percent in real terms) would have won some sympathy.

Spreadsheet Phil, fresh from his recent 11% pay rise, is not happy with fellow ministers who think now is the time to end austerity and listen to an electorate already fed up with 7 years of austerity. These years were supposed to end the budget deficit. Spreadsheet Phil, as cheerful as ever, has promised 8 more years of deficit busting budgets. And to think, George Osborne told us it would be over by 2 years ago!

The electorate are starting to think that, maybe, now is the time to invest. After all, the UK is the slowest growing economy in the EU, so something isn't adding up. Tax relief for multi nationals, and the expectancy that Britain will be the newest and wettest of all the tax havens post Brexit.

Theresa May mocked Corbyn "he only wants trade deals with Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea" she said. Liam Fox, fresh from his deal with President Duterte (with whom we have shared values) nodded on whilst a few more British made bombs splashed down on The Yemen.

Not according to me at all Davey boy. Such a shame that you have decided to openly lie about things I've said here. It speaks volumes for you, and whispers nothing about me.

Here's what I actually said, for removal of doubt:-

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has reported “growing numbers of nursing staff using food banks, taking on additional jobs and accruing personal debt”.

“We have a network of reps and RCN officers that stretches across the UK. They are in constant contact with members and this is what they report. This is not just one or two cases.”

The Trussell Trust, the largest food bank network in the UK, said that it “had occasional reports from [its] foodbanks of nurses being referred for emergency food”.
