I am trying to find the official website for the Ilet a2 test but seem to be finding lots of websites that offer it but I am just not sure where the official one is.

We are looking for a test center in the UK, we looked at the British Council website and they don't have any in the North, it's all Birmingham and London.

I am finding websites but it looks like they are not official, I don't know why its not on the gov website.

I have seen the list of official test centres on The gov website, but I can't find the website for the Leeds or Edinburgh test centers.

Save some £££££ and just go for the ILETS B1.

Probably not, I thought you are on the 5 year route. That’s what a lot of people do these days (like me) I just applied for an extension after being in the UK for 2.5 years and instead of going for A2 I went for the B1 so I can use it for the ILR. I don’t know how the 10 year route works so can’t help on that sorry.

I have just read the home office guidance and it seems to say that that under the 10 year route there is no need for a2.

Can anyone else Confirm if this is correct and no English test is required or if we need to extend the a1?

parents, grandparents, dependent relatives of those with British citizenship or settlement in the UK, applying under paragraph 317 of the Immigration Rules,

Would she not be exempt under paragraph 317? I can't understand how she would be exempt of a2 but then have to take a higher level

    Hi
In your wifes case she will not be classed as a dependent and the UKBA take the view that having been here 10 years it is reasonable to expect her English to be of a certain standard.

    Hi mattecube

I've been reading the homeoffice document so for indefinite leave to remain she will need b1 as you said.

However that is not for another 7.5 years as my wife has been here for 2.5 years we are just renewing the spouse visa and I am not sure if we need it yet?

Hi. Help please. I have taken IELTS general training last 2010 and have my nvq 3 in health and social care certificate. Our carehome offered me to push thru to QCF 5 which I'm currently progressing now. Is this sufficient enough to prove my English required by UKVI for 2nd FLR M application? Thank you very much.

You will need A2 for your 2nd flr..but you can also take B1 instead which you will need later on for ilr.

Sadly not. QCF is foundation degree level so falls short of the degree level status required.
