    Hi Everyone

Really grateful for this forum. Getting so much information from here.

Please could you help me with the following:

If you fell in love with someone from the Philippines and thinks she is the one...How do you go about bringing her to this country ( I live in London) to settle down (get married ) and live happily ever after with her?... Please could someone provide advice and guidance...

Hi Trendy. Boy! Have you come to the right place!

If you click on the Forums tag at the top (where it says Home, Forums, Members) it will take you to a page where all the forum topics are listed. Scroll down to the Visas and Immigration section (quite a way down) and you are bound to find a discussion thread which will take you through a step-by-step process to follow.

    Alternatively, click this --- http://www.british-filipino.com/index.php?forums/uk-visa-and-immigration-help.12/

Remember that dozens of the members have already been through, or are going through the same process as you plan to.

If you can't find what you're looking for there, post your questions and people will help.

    Good Luck!

Bigmac is right. It is expensive but as they say, love conquers all.

You will need to be earning £18,600 a year in order to meet the minimum financial requirement. She needs to pass an English exam. She will also need to pass a TB test.

Don't let the visa fees and the hassle put you off. If she's really the one it will be worth it. You just have to meet personally, to start with, for you to apply for a settlement visa for her. :)

The English test is very easy. It will only her Speaking and Listening skills. The test itself wouldn't take more than 10 minutes. If you visit the IDP and BC page you can get a free sample there so you know what to expect. The English test will be valid for 2 years so she can take that anytime you want. The TB test will only be valid for 6 months so she might not want to take that until you know when you are applying for the visa.

    Welcome to the forum!

The only way you can bring her here permanently is to get married. So, as other members have mentioned, first make sure she is single legally. Remember that ph doesnt offer divorce so once she has been married, the longest and most frustrating part is getting an annulment.

Then reseach on the requirments to get her over (fiance visa or spouse visa):
    - income of £18600
    - suitable accomodation
    - have met personally (skype chats doesnt count)
    - english test (very basic listening and speaking)
    - TB test

And then pay the visa fees

Yes I have been to Manila....but that was back in 2015...I went there along with hundreds of other foreign investors who lost money on investing in Off plan condos in the Philippines , where the developers took money and never finished the condo.......I did manage to sue my British lawyers who advised me to purchase in the Philippines and managed to get most of my money back....Anyway, that's another story!!

I met her just recently. Back in 2015, I went there purely to go after the developer. I met her very recently through a friend of a friend of a friend or a friend....I have not met her personally yet..but we have been chatting on the phone regularly..If things carry on as they are, I would like to go and visit her

    There is an old saying:

"How can you make a small fortune in the Philippines"

    answer

    "Start with a large fortune"

be careful what you get involved with, the place and the people have many charms and true strengths but if you don't understand the culture you could lose everything.

That would be a great start to meet her in person, as you know the Philippines is a beautiful land. Start building the relationship.

Useful information Maley...Thank you very much. She is single, Never married and no kids...but she lives in the Province. She has never been on a plane, never been abroad and does not hold any kind of passport,,She does hold a University degree though, and her English (when sending emails to me) is basic with errors...My income is fine, but I live in a rented flat share., like all others in London...If things go on as great as they have been , i would love to go and meet her personally in the Philippines...She wants me to meet her parents too, which i great sign...

I would suggest meeting her first personally. I know you might be just thinking these options/requirements etc which is good to know in advance but then personally meeting each other is the best way forward to know if there is chemistry and even a reason to go forward with any plans.

Dont hesitate to post any questions here - most went through what you are going through right now.
