So tomorrow is 28 days before the end of the wife's visa ends, she hasn't taken or booked the "life in the uk" test nor another English test, is this still doable or should we of had this in place by now?

If you are approaching ILR, that suggests your wife already has (at least) IELTS level B1 English certificate? That's all she needs for ILR application...

Regarding LitUK test, have you checked their website - https://www.gov.uk/life-in-the-uk-test - for test date availability?

Someone on here, I'm sure, will be able to tell you what happens, or could happen, if you run out of time. You have up until the date the current BRP expires to submit your application - personally, I wouldn't leave it that late though!

Ah thanks, received an email from someone offering an English test because my wife was due her ILR, I didn't read it properly and I guess it is just a generic email I thought or guessed it was a reminder for another test, typical man I just look at the pictures lol

The wife said the B1 English test expires after 2 years would this mean taking it again?

Morning, i found it was actually A2. 1 level she took last time so we need to take the B1 level as I understand it

Yeah - my error! My wife went straight from A1 to B1 - bypassing A2 (& saving some £££) but you need B1 for ILR, & beyond, as @Mattecube says.

Sorry to 'piggy-back' on this Post, but my query is 'related' to applying for ILR...

My (now) wife arrived in the UK on a Fiancee Visa on 10/Sept/2018. We married in the UK on 19/Jan/2019 (within the 6-month Fiancee Visa). Her first 2.5-year FLR(M) Visa/BRP was 'Issued' on 12/Mar/2019.

My question is, when does the 5-years 'resident in the UK' start from, before she can apply for ILR?
I know the period as a fiancee doesn't count, and my 'instinct' says it is from the 'Issue' date of her first FLR(M) (12/Mar/2019), but instinct can be wrong! I also believe she can apply up to 28 days before the date she is eligible - if it is 12/Mar/2019, then she would be eligible on 12/Mar/2024 (less 28 days = 13/Feb/2024) ?

your instinct is correct go with it, 5 years starts with the valid from date on BRP, and 13.02.2024 is correct also

We just deducted 28 days off the date it said on her second flr visa buy seeing we left everything too the last minute I wouldn't take any advice off me whatsoever unless it's something to do with roofing

I knew if the Applicant arrived in the UK 'already married' then the 5 years started from the date they 'set foot' in the UK, but wasn't sure about if they were on a Fiancee Visa! Could it be from the date of marriage etc? (Thanks to @Mattecube for confirming my 'instinct') (& thank goodness I had the foresight to scan a copy of her first BRP, otherwise I would never have remembered the random date of 'Issue'!!!)
