    Dear All,

I am currently going through the process of applying for ILR for both my wife and step-daughter and have a few questions on the "Evidence" that hopefully somebody can assist me with:
    • I need to provide "Document(s) showing the relationship between you and your sponsor, such as full birth certificates showing the sponsor's name or an adoption order". Unless I misunderstand I think I am the sponsor or is it my wife? If it is me I am not named on my step daughter's birth certificate and I have not (yet) adopted her so what evidence do you think I could provide?
    • Can anybody advise what evidence you have submitted to prove "you live with your sponsor."
    • The Document Checklist for my step-daughter requires quite a few things but for my wife it is just asking for her Philippines passport and BRP. Is this correct? I really thought it would have asked for a lot more such as proof she lives with me, her employment status etc. Certainly with LTR and FLR we were asked for a lot more by way of evidence.
    • The application process did not allow me to combine both wife and step-daughter application in one so I had to make them separately. Is there any easy way to make one biometrics appointment for them both?
Also didn't realise on top of the "£2885" fee for each that the biometrics appointment costs an additional £245 each!

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

For evidence of relationship between you and the child I would submit your marriage certificate to the childs mother and mother and child birth certificate, thats probably all you have as you have not adopted the child
evidence you (child) live with your sponsor, school letters doctor or other health letters addressed to your home referring to child, letters to mom to home address and or referring to child, home office letters referring to visa for both or one and other
The fact your wife has a BRP card and visa will be cross checked by the decision makers for already held information on your wife
Bio metrics I dont think there is an easy way to book for 2 people as each appointment will need the unique application number to be applied before booking the slot
Are you trying to use the out of hours appointment slots and additional services, such as scanning of documents for that fee?

Thanks For that info, really useful so very much appreciated. Not trying to use out of hours or additional services, that's the quote I get when trying to book in London. If I book elsewhere the price is lower which I don't get. Its the same service?

I noticed the comment about adoption and the "yet".

Are you seriously considering adoption as takes some time to complete but when done in a UK court she would instantly acquire British citizenship. Has to be done before 18. Would have been better to do in advance of ILR as would have saved those fees. Still can go that route and save fees associated with citizenship.

There are issues in that have to get recognized in Philippines especially if want to change surname as will then have issues getting British passport if Philippines one in old name and can't easily change name in Philippines without court order to get Philippines passport in new name.
