how many years to take in applying for ILR .. then citizenship..i got little idea and knowledge on my mind but unsure if it was right just need some opinion here though there is webiste to look for that inf. just want to hear to those who just done it :england:
you apply ILR at least a few months before your FLR expires... when you get your ILR, you might probably be on your 3rd year here in the UK ... so you can apply for citizneship ... speaking of which, i would need to start reading the book for that freaking life in the UK test... haist!
ooops that confuse me.. am on a spouse visa ..so i guess after that its ILR and not FLR ?? ? correct me if am wrong
If you are on a Spouse Visa, you can apply for ILR when the spouse visa expires - no need for FLR. Then one year after ILR, you can apply for citizenship. Total of 3 years.
I think Mod Rob is right! when will your visa expires Balot? I will apply my ILR in January... my visa will expire in April but will be 2 years here in UK in January... then after a year I've got my ILR I will apply for citizenship...
oh wow..i thougt there is new law now that to apply for citizenship after the ILR.. would be going 3 more years for the citizenship plus 2 years ILR total of 5 years...im confuse again waaaaaaaaaaaaa can you clarify this pls or anybody has just applied
spouse visa expires ...May 2011, coz i heard a new law that to get citizenship it will take 3 more years instead of 1 year after the ILR granted not sure though
