Incipit Vita Nova

The title is one of my favorite lines from Dante Alighieri's La Vita Nova; it translates to "here begins a new life."

Here begins a new life. Most of you know what I've been through during the first half of this year and as most love stories go, it was indeed love lost and learned. I took time off, focused on myself and family, caught up with friends, and now here I am. I liken myself to newly polished silver: engaging, beautiful (pleasing on the eyes), bright, but no amount of polishing can get rid of the scuff marks/dents the fork/spoon has endured during years of use. I have battle scars and I'm proud of them. They are lessons learned, albeit the hard way, and I became a better person with each obstacle that I have encountered and overcame.

In the spirit of being newly polished, I am once again opening my heart to love. It's what keeps this world moving (although some may argue that money does that, haha. I'd like to be a bit more optimistic, if you don't mind), and to be frank, all of its nuances are what makes me feel alive. A friend once told me that a space is created to be filled and here I am, ready to welcome love back in and have someone fill that void in my heart. You may argue that it might not be a perfect fit but hey. Hearts are malleable (I think so, hehe, in my case) and I will conform and complement him in every possible way.

Incipit vita nova. Here begins a new life. :)

Good to see you back all happy and smiley Melissa.

I see you have regrouped and put the bad experience behind you, and better still you have learned from the experience.

One lucky chap awaits you :)

Has your experience put British chaps off the menu Melissa or are you giving them the benefit of doubt? :)

    Thank you, Timmers. :)

Hmm definitely giving British guys the benefit of doubt. I have a feeling that I managed to snag a bad apple out of the bunch, but am fully aware that there are better, sweeter apples out there. :)

Hi Mellisa. Im sorry you found the typical. bad apple out there. But I asure you men are not all the same. From my experiences I will not date another Typical English lady for the same reasons. They have all lost there ethics to life. I believe in old values and true faith in your partner.. I dont know where you are in the uk but I would love to hear from you..

I think Melissa is in Philippines, Ian, but I could be wrong.
She hasn't been here for quite a while.
