Hello people, I'm new here, I came across the site while searching for answers to my visa queries?? To give you some background to my story here is the story so far!! I'm a 50 yr old white British guy normally resident in the U.K. Last year I started a relationship with a very beautiful filipina after a short while I travelled to Cebu for a vacation and to meet this lovely lady that I had already falling in love with!! Well when we met it was like the 4th of July fireworks everywhere I could never had dreamed this beautiful stunning girl would ever feel the same about me as I did of her!! But she really did we had the most amazing three weeks together but sadly I had to return to work! Before I left though I decided I didn't want to let her go so one evening at dinner I surprised her by proposing with a ring!! To my amazement she said yes!! Needless to say we keep in touch everyday shortly after returning to uk we found out that our fireworks had created more than a Big Bang our love had made us a beautiful baby boy! He was born this April 1st 2017 of course I took heaps of time off work to come back to the Philippines to be with her during the birth of our son! Now I'm back in the U.K. and missing my new family very much and long to see them as soon as possible!! Well I think that's you all caught up on my Philippines love story!!
Wow. In for penny, in for a pound as they say. There can't be many people who meet a person for the first time, propose and have a child in one transaction.
Many Thanks!! It wasn't planned to be like this but we love each other very much and are so very lucky to be the parents of our gorgeous little boy! I'm now working on bringing them both to uk! On a visit visa initially and hoping to apply his British passport while he is here??
Firstly welcome and congratulations! You should apply for your son's (British) Passport immediately and you apply online. You will have to provide the following documentary evidence as originals (except where marked): Your Passport Bio page plus pages showing Philippine Immigration stamps indicating when you entered and left the country on each visit (good, clear certified photocopies); Your partner's Passport - all pages (good, clear certified photocopies); Your son's Philippine Passport - Bio page only (good, clear certified photocopy); Photos of you and your partner taken together, identified for date and place. All your partner's Ob/Gynae notes from which the date of conception should be apparent plus details of all Ob/Gynae visits, scans etc. throughout the pregnancy; All hospital notes and records detailing the birth and immediate aftermath - tests performed etc.; Hospital Birth Certificate - which hopefully names you as the father; NSO Birth Certificate; Photos of the three of you taken as a group and at regular intervals up to the date of application; Proof that you are supporting - financially and emotionally - your son and his mother; Passport photos; Countersignatory form: the person who countersigns the application and the back of one of the photos must have "met" the baby. This can be done on Skype. Your partner should send the documents by DHL or FedEx; not via Philpost. All those documents together with the coversheet printed at the time of the online application are then sent to the Passport Office. It will take between 3 and 6 months for a Passport to be issued.
At the moment it appears to be taking a minimum of 6 months. I am still waiting (all correct original documents supplied) a year later. Not unusual now, apparently. If he can get the baby into the country on a visitor visa, take a closer look at applying for a British passport from HERE. It MAY be quicker.
Hi There, Sorry for the delay in replying, I find that I have to work twice as hard now I'm supporting myself and my family in the Philippines!! lol! Thank you for the information I think we have most or all of this!! Although still waiting on the NSO birth certificate as the medical records of the hospital we used messed up the birth certificate from there end!! as per usual!! I do have my name on his birth certificate did an affidavit while I was there!! I read somewhere that we need a certificate of original birth from the British Embassy in Makati?? Is this true??
No, you don't need anything from the Embassy. Just send what is listed on the Passport Office website.
Hi there, Thanks good to know, Waiting for the my sons Philippines passport then will try for a visit visa for the both of them and apply from here when they arrive! Providing it's approved of course!!
Salamat! The problem is at the moment his birth certificate the hospital put typo in the original so we had to fix that!! 6,5000php and still waiting for the amended copy! Was due to be ready last week now it's next week! I'm sure you know how the bureaucracy can be in the Philippines hoping and praying for the best miss my boy and his mother very much!!
ha. it took 8 months to sort out my wife's son's new passport because of some error on his fathers passport and birth certificate.
Fortunately I was there when all forms were being completed... watching them like a hawk ! Costwise... I don't know where that enormous figure comes from. A few dozen to a few hundred pesos should cover the cost of any birth certs etc in the Phils.
Yeah I can believe that now!! Me and my partner (Chel) were aware of how bad they are at making mistakes with the birth certificate so I was trying my best to get everything done before I had to return to work but the hospital was so slow in releasing the white copy birth certificate from the hospital and I know that the details were all correct when the I putted the data n front of me and Chel so imagine my shock and anger when Chel shows me the birth certificate with a typo in her first name??? Was not happy!!!
That cost was the price from city hall they told my partner 40,000 if our sons birth had been registered in there computer system but lucky for us the hospital hadn't done that!!! I guess!!!
I have no idea who is quoting you those sort of figures, but I can tell you that it only cost 21,000 pesos for my wife's whole (4 day) confinement in a good hospital, and in a private room.... 12,000 of which was later refunded through her Philhealth (govt. health insurance). All government documents, such as birth certificates, marriage certs, etc, won't cost anyone more than a few hundred pesos for ALL of them... off the top of my head. These are set prices, which you can probably google search for... and many of these services are available online now , even in the Philippines. Be wary. It sounds like someone is trying to lift your leg.
Congrats to you both. Will you be getting married in Phils? I did and it was excellent - a jeepney from the Mayor's residence in town where we got married to the jetty to get the pump boat over to her island for the food. So many years ago now but I'd do the same if in the same situation again. Keep all of your plane tickets and hotel receipts for the spousal visa process. Start thinking of an eventual set of about 50 photos in a small album too. Annotate them as you go on.
To be honest not sure of our plans at the moment Chel (my Fiancée) will finally pick up his amended birth certificate on Monday and go straight to DVA to apply his Filipino passport, then I was planning visit visa for them both to come her for 6 months! After that not sure! Going on what people have been telling me here about the ILR wife visa I'm not comfortable spending that sort of money just to line the pockets of the government!! I'd rather invest that in property or land in the Philippines and eventually make the move there!
In my wife's name I mean of course once we are married! and I presume my son can own land as he will have dual nationality!??
