    Hi all....
My wifes x-ray showed signs of T.B.
    Sputum Smear test negative
    No noticeable symptoms either
Sputum culture test was 4 weeks ago
Reffered to the plumanologyst at Makati Medical Center after the negative Sputum Smear test.
Diagnosed with latent TB advised to take antibiotics.

    My question,
How can the doctor diagnose latent TB with only the inaccurate x-ray and a negative sputum smear test?
It has only been 4 weeks since the Sputum culture test which takes 8/9 weeks for the bacteria to grow.
X-rays and smear are statistically only 60% accurate.

    Am I missing something ?
Has anyone else had this experience?
I have emailed the Makati Medical Center for an explanation too.
    :(

    kind regards

I would await their response and take it from there.

Of course but why cause untold stress to a pregnant woman before they have the final results.
Treatment has begun before the results have been gathered.
Does this not seem odd ?
