I was talking to my friend Eihab about the spouse visa cost and he said he paid around £885 now I think it’s gone up to £956 (current fee).
After that he says he will have to pay £649 (current fee) which he will have to apply before his wife’s first visa runs out. And then £1500 (current fee) for ILR.
He is not 100% sure about it so I thought I will ask here.

Not exactly sure of the figures, but sounds about right if the FLR is done by post.

If done in person it is more expensive.

    How long it will take
    A decision will be made:

      • within 8 weeks for postal applications
      • usually on the same day if you use the premium service
You’ll be contacted if your application is complex and will take longer, eg:

      • if your supporting documents need to be verified
      • if you need to attend an interview
      • because of your personal circumstances, eg if you have a criminal conviction
    Fees
Who you’re applying for By post £649,,
    In person (premium service) £1,049

This is the new fees im applying, and were go on Premium Service so i can work and have my BRP then. I cant wait for 8 weeks

Yup. And don't forget the 500 quid NHS surcharge extra with each application.

    We're all being mugged, basically.

National Health Service surcharge, basically it is to help with any costs of medical treatment your loved one may receive while on the settlement route.

This is correct. You need to pay it on top of the visa fee with each application. So add 500 to each one.

Do you need to pay the NHS surcharge if your company provides full medical coverage (including for GP visits)?

Most probably. You still have to pay it if you're paying National Insurance.

I would say yes 100% as at the end of the day if you had an accident or hurt yourself you would ultimately end up using the A&E services.

Cant get out of it that easily :D

If you applied before April 2015 then you wouldn't have to pay the NHS surcharge, they will catch you on your next FLR application.
