Odd I certainly did not see any work going on back at Christmas time, to be honest Island Cove was starting to look a bit run down but then again we went on a bit of a dull day.

This is how I remember the main section. Went in several times and is for older kids and adults. When we were there 2 years ago there was also a small kids area, for toddlers and upwards, just close by, just strides away but offset. The above (first post) new zone has been added.

I know what you mean about being a little run down. Island Cove has been around for a long while. See the ABS CNN article for an indication of its history. I spent about 7 or 8 days there, both before and after we married and enjoyed the stay. We had our wedding reception there. All the wedding guests had the option to use the pool area afterwards, though it was mainly the kids that took that option. :D

It is close to my wife's family in Cavite and we got a discount from the owners. I couldn't find much else in the immediate vicinity and it wasn't expensive. It also had quite a lot to offer.

Hopefully they will continue to upgrade it.

This explains....the area in your photo hasn't changed. As far as I can tell. The kids splash zone is the new feature just recently completed, as in the pic in the opening post.

"Executive assistant manager Uly Oposa said that the portion of the pool area especially designed for kids reopened with a playground and a boating area for children.

“We added a Splash Park which is like a water playground where kids play… Our former kiddie pool [was] turned into a kiddie boating area. [There are] toddler boats — maliliit na boats na pambata.”

He said that they specifically expanded the portion of the pool for kids because they want to build on making the resort a place where all members of the family will enjoy."

Ah ok, the kids pool was to the left about 30 yards from where I took that picture, also was where the showers and toilets are, they must have done all this work since Christmas.

This is the old kiddies pool (picture has Charlotte Dhren and Carl, with Janna and James in the distance)

The other small kids pool is to the right and is in my photo above but that is a really small pool.

No we only ever went for day trips, first time was just after my daughter was born in 2008.
