Nobody can replace the Top gear threesome and thats that.. Anyone that tries it is on a career suicide mission.
Just hope the three and producer are offered millions and millions to replicate it on another channel..
    Next year now I`d say.

He could probably do it as could other petrolheads like Rowan Atkinson.
No-one is irreplaceable and Clarkson will be forgotten by the BBC and the people who pay their UK TV licence, and about time too.
Violence or people associated with it is not what people want.

Alan Yentob well deserved the tongue lashing he got from a number of journalists - including from Janet Street-Porter, herself a former BBC senior manager - for the patronising remarks he made regarding the BBC making other programmes for the 'common man'.

Clarkson and May met with their producer, Andy Wilman, yesterday and the presenters have already let it be known that they are a "package" so with Clarkson gone, May and Hammond are unlikely to sign new contracts next week. Plus the final three episodes of the show have been cancelled and the aircraft hanger studio in Surrey has been cleared. Oh and Chris Evans has said that he doesn't want to host the show. From all this, I conclude that Top Gear will no longer be on BBC.

As I understand it, the BBC owns the name ("Top Gear") but Clarkson and Wilman own the show's format which they devised when they took over the show. It'll be back with a new name. just not on the BBC but another terrestrial broadcaster (not Sky as Murdoch doesn't want it).

Read somewhere on the net that the 3 of them may go to sky 1 and present a show called "Top speed".

In a way I think it would be wrong for SKY to employ Clarkson, none of us here would get a job that easily if we had smacked someone at work.

Although it is difficult to get away from the fact that it is a very popular show and high ratings and advertisement revenue will win over at the end of the day.

Swearing at someone at work, never mind landing them one, can lead to dismissal.

Eventually the TV licence fee will have to go up..Unless 60++ million in revenue is not worth them worrying about.
Top Gear cannot end!! Hopefully it WILL continue to gain audience on a different channel.
If you don't like it..Dont watch it!

My ex wife used to watch Top Gear a lot. She enjoyed the humour. I have found that I have enjoyed Top Gear from time to time. Not every week though. I wont be too bothered if it stays or goes.
