    That's a very good article.

    My father worked in Palestine in the Thirties with a staff of Arabs (Christian and Muslim) and Jews (that's the correct term - they were not Israelis then!) - he spoke Arabic well and Hebrew at a conversational level.

    He enjoyed his time in the Navy in WW2, much of which was in North Africa and he said that the hardest people he met in the War were the Jewish girl truck drivers in the Eighth Army's logistics train.

    Forty years later, when he finally retired he said "There is no practical difference between a Palestinian and an Israeli"
