    Hi all,
Plenty on here about working in UK, anyone got experience in going the other way
As in starting to work for a international company in PHilippines?
And therefore coming -across from uk without family either uk or PHilippines based? ‘Zero baggage’
If so what’s the hoops needed to go through, I’ve done it in Kuwait, uae and Oman but not sure of the ‘needs’ within Philippines
Even more so now with CV19 doing what it’s doing.

help and constructive guidance always welcome.
    Stay safe
    cheers B

I spent a year working in Kuwait, many years ago. I stopped working internationally a long time back too. An ex colleague of mine worked for Shell all over the world but took enforced early retirement. He is now living in the Philippines and had been seeking work but to my knowledge was not expecting to find anything in the Philippines and saw his chances of continuing his career elsewhere. So you have been lucky.

He met his Filipina wife in the Middle East when he was working there. He loves the Philippines.

You need a job offer and sponsorship from the company that is going to employ you, they have to prove that your particular expertise is required and can not be provided locally and then it is all about the appropriate visa and so on.

I've not done this myself but I have a friend who ran a Web Agency business in the Phils and needed French and UK staff in specific management and technical roles, I'm only reporting the advice above based on his experience many many years ago.

For me there are 3 reasons that will explain why I will never consider retiring or settling in any other fashion in the Philippines.

    NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE
Not being taken advantage of because of the colour of my skin
    Italy beckons........

It’s in energy sector and classed as ‘essential’ within both UK and Philippine guidelines, been headhunted so no issue regarding job offer and sponsorship, its more along the lines of paperwork side. The HR office for Asia market is in Manila Pasig city so of course they will take care. Just wanted to know process if anyone has 2019/2020 experience

I hear you. You are probably well conversed with requirements for working in various countries. My guess is that although all processes can be different, you will have encountered similar approaches before presumably with extra Covid 19 related requirements on top.

My employer has people working in far flung corners of the globe but is finding it difficult to get them into various countries (travel restrictions being the blocker) and Singapore was one he mentioned the other day. So at the moment things have ground to a halt.

Are you getting a charter flight into the Philippines? My experience has been that if the employing company need you in the country then they will normally facilitate the entry and means of entry. Hopefully that would apply in your case?
