One last thing, anyone here heard about the need of police and NBI clearances for fiancé visa application,as additional requirement that took effect Sept.1.2015?
I have all these clearances dated a year ago ,and I worry these must be expired already.Willing to queue endlessly again tho to get the current clearances.

Haven't heard of that one at all.
Do you have a link to that requirement ? or has someone mentioned it to you for some reason ?

Not in the immigration rules. Not needed

BTW I needed a Police Clearance Certificate from UK to apply my 13a.
    Also NBI clearance.

Of course Disclosure is a part of the application
That includes such questions such as :-

Do you have any criminal convictions either in the UK or overseas (you must include spent and unspent convictions
    as well as traffic offences)?

Have you ever been charged in any country (including the UK) with a criminal offence for which you have not yet been tried in court (including traffic offences)?

My wife submitted it although I do not think it is a requirement, she had it as part of her OFW paperwork when she was working in Dubai.

I submitted an NBI clearance though I don't think it is a requirement just to support my answer to the question about conviction. Haha! Getting the NBI clearance was a nightmare! Spent 10 hours in Cebu and got a 'hit' and had to go back after a week! I didn't bother getting a police clearance then.

I wasn't aware of any requirement to submit an NBI or police clearance and we didn't submit one with our recently approved application. I doubt that the UKVI would specify a philippine document in their regulations since visa applications come from many other countries that do not have such a document. As stated above, there is merely a question concerning convictions/ criminal charges, and I would expect that appropriate verification of the same goes on behind the scenes without the need to an NBI. We also took the NBI to the CFO interview, and that wasn't looked at there either.

If you decide to get an nbi clearance, the application process is a bit easier now, just visit http://clearance.nbi.gov.ph.
Biometrics and Photo-taking for nbi clearance application could be scheduled at a later date after filling out the form thru their website. Plus, payments could be made at any third party NBI authorized collection centers.

Ahh good for you, I stay in the city as well. The mall where I get my nbi clearance done is just walking distance from where I work so it's not really a long wait. I do it after office, 5pm when everyone has finished with their applications - only 5-10 or 15 people at most usually :)

I see no reason why an NBI clearance would be needed on a UK visa application. It's a Filipino thing. They wouldn't be interested.

Applications would come from all over the World, and each country has different documents and so on. They are only interested in what has validity in the UK.

Things like NBI and Cenomar mean nothing in the UK. They wouldn't be interested.

I remember my wife having to get NBI clearance before she could get a passport. It was delyed due to someone of the same name being a bit of a criminal. An online google of my wife's maiden name reveals quite a few mug shots!

My wife had a similar problem to yours, a criminal bearing the same name, every time she re entered the Philippines she had hassle at immigration, and not surprisingly it took quite a while to sort it out.

If it makes you feel happy and you have the time go ahead. You'll sleep easier.

But just to repeat, the UKVI caseworkers won't be looking at it.

Its getting difficult to distinguish between folklore and what the UKVI actually requires.

Better too much than too little as they say :)

I had to admit to throwing banana skins over my cage at those Japanese tourists with the flash on the camera on. But they let me in the Philippines for six years
