Two hours is my ideal connection time. Once had a 40 minute connection in Schipol, flying UK to Schengan with KLM. Big queues at the immigration and at the x-ray scanning. The Bas****s made take my shoes off. Missed my connecting flight. Another time I remember running for the gate, the ladies at the gate were cheering me on, they told me I was the last, and (3 or 4?) others had missed the connection.
My local airport in the UK, is a £15 taxi ride away, a lot easier and less expensive than heading down to LHR.
The fare is one of the special deals currently being offered by Air China on flights from Heathrow. Link Other destinations include Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, China, and Australia. Flights are available in both Economy and Business class. -------------------------------- --------------------------------- Screen image taken today, 17th December.
£1365 That's a great offer for Business Class. I don't how their business class compares, but I'd guess pretty good.
Paper bag in the pocket of the seat in front of you. That's also true of Economy but you do get a new one in Business Class.
Anyone flown with Air China? I've seen cheap flights with airlines like them but I've always been too wary to try.
I have been on China Southern Airlines but not on Air China, For that price the service will be crap, same as china southern airlines but it was ok for me
Used to be able to get KLM business class round trip GLA->MNL for £1290 with an average of £1500 then suddenly they raised the floor to £2200 and it's gone up from there, I never paid more than £1550 ish for business and the later free flights on flying blue miles made up for the initial expense. Saying that £1365 is pretty good but Air China get only get 4/10 on Skytrax and some of the reviews are pretty scathing. http://www.airlinequality.com/airline-reviews/air-china/
Yes but try getting one of these and i think you will find that it has suddenly disappeared. I have flown china south and it was ok not up to klm or air france standard and did have 10 hour transfer in Beijing but as a westerner with my wife, was put up in very nice hotel , on another occasion when she was traveling alone the put her in a very sleazy local hotel! ( she had not learned the western art of loud complaining at that time !) i always travel from my local airport Birmingham which is a lot less stressful , quicker check in and very helpful staff. it does cost a little more but if booked 2 months + ahead i have had flights to manila for £420 return , and that is cheaper than adding the rail fare down to heathrow. If traveling on to other area of phil get ticket to manila then go direct to phil air or air asia or zest for the internal flight you will save over £50 by not having it as a direct to destination booking. regards steve and liza
Looking on skyscanner...im seeing direct Philippines air flights ...February... Singles from Manila...about £409....is that about average ?
By singles do you mean one way? £550 return from Heathrow is about right but can almost double during peak times. Kayak is also a useful tool for searching for flights.
yes--one way. not from heathrow. i'm looking ahead for when my fiancee gets her visa. being positive about it.
