Just arrived 3 weeks ago from Pnas to attend BF birthday and to spend the holidays with him and my brother's family on a Family Visit Visa. This morning we been to hospital to get the result of the series of test/procedure done to him as he always complains of tummy ache even when he was in Pnas last Sept. The diagnosis was he got Cancer of the Stomach...i was so shock even up to this writting am still in denial...my world seems to fall apart as we are suppose to get married in July next year in Pnas, he being from EU and been working here in the UK for 12 yrs...
I know it would be impossible for him to go to Pnas in his condition as many things has to be arrange for him..my question is..Is it possible that we can get married here ...i know i cannot it is not allowed bcoz am only on a Family visit visa...i need to be with him every single day,
I dont know if we have any other options...any advice/ suggestion is highly appreciated
    Thank you so much.

That is not the Christmas you were expecting angel28, I feel for you, If I was you I would take time out to fully absorb the news you have received today, you need to think of the consequences of this illness and what it entails for you and your loved one.

As you already know, you are not allowed to marry in the UK whilst here on a visit visa, whether there are exceptions to this rule I do not know.

You are here on a visit visa which entitles you to stay in the UK for six months, why don't you stay here for six months and see how things develop. I am sure your loved ones diagnoses will mean he will be admitted to hospital very soon and I'm sure your support will be much appreciated. You will need to stay strong to help him fight this illness.

I wish you both the very best

That is really very sad that you have learned of this news. It is possible to marry in the UK on a visit visa but not advisable since a condition on the issuance of that visa will be that you will not marry. The marriage would be legal but the British immigration authorities would not look favourably upon any future visa application.

If your fiancé is unable to work because of his illness then he may not have enough income for your fiancée visa application. But I note he is from another EU country and has been in the UK for 12 years. Could that mean you can qualify to come to live in the UK under EU law, rather than UK law? Someone better than me may be able to answer that question.
