So,why do you keep singling out Muslims in a negative light?
Google "Bible Murder" and see the Christian perspective, for example.
You are just one of many who will see life through blinkered eyes IMO.
Have you had any conversations with peaceful Muslims? If so, where?
    Look at the bigger picture.

You Google it.. I thought I had already made my views on religion pretty clear.
I recently attended the wedding of my best friend to a Muslim woman in Malaysia..
Lots of peaceful Malaysians there.. Ive been there before so I knew that anyway.
He was a Catholic from Eastern Europe that converted his "religion" to marry the woman he loved.
I dont think he felt an ounce of guilt for doing so, as he (Much like me) has absolutely no faith in the religious B.S he had just signed up to..
If you ask me why I see the Muslim religion in a negative light then read the damned link and answer the question!!! Perhaps you can educate me..
    I doubt it though.

Well that really gets us back to the idea that it isn't Muslims per se or even the Koran that we ought to be concerned about. Its just a few nutters who may or may not be muslims that are getting hold of the wrong end of the stick with the Koran that we need to be worried about.

Well for me personally John...I remain VERY concerned.
We just have no idea when these nutters will decide to strike next.. Turn on a news channel these days and its becoming harder to be shocked and surprised.
When good people are targeted by bad people at random and we dare to speak up in a civilized so called democratic country, we are now branded as racists by do gooders like Mr Apo and of course the very Government that are supposed to be there to protect us.. They will do nothing of the kind as its probably against EU rules..
    Now that,I find extremely offensive.
Sorry.. But thats how I feel.

    Nuff said..

I doubt that you have had any meaningful conversations with peaceful Muslims because if you did you would not have the attitude you do, IMO.
I wouldn't want to try to educate you because a) I don't feel I am more educated than you and b) not looking at the bigger picture has clouded your judgement.

Anyway, why are you concerned about the UK? You left these shores years ago to be an ex-pat, you live overseas and you don't pay taxes here?
Tell us the rights and wrongs about life in the Philippines but the UK...no thanks.

As I am still exposed in dealing in shorting the U.K AIM market and small British companies in general, unfortunately I still have to pay U.K taxes..
The profits are unfortunately extracted from the U.K and then forwarded to Asia`s largest growing economy which is where I happen to live here very happily with my immediate family..
Will you require my full tax return?
    Are you a Policeman?

    Now now children..

Left this debate earlier today as I am full of a cold, so is the wife and we’ve had headaches so getting deep and logical wasn’t something I could do a few hours ago.

Anyway, that link to the various versus from the Qurʼan takes a lot of stuff out of proportion so it isn’t really of any use – except for EDL propaganda!

I mean, the Qurʼan is different from the Bible as it can’t simply be taken on face value, the texts in the Qurʼan need to be interpreted alongside the corresponding hadith. Think of the hadith as kind of like a book reference, so in order to understand a certain Qurʼanic quote, you need to look up the hadith that says how this saying effectively becomes law and in what circumstances. So that webpage is kind of like looking at a list of web links but working offline so you can’t follow the links and therefore don’t know where they go or what they mean...

Now that’s not to say the Qurʼan doesn’t contain some pretty nasty stuff about killing, taking slaves, raping said slaves and generally speaking if you lived your life by that book literally you might be found guilty of any number of crimes. And there are plenty of Muslims out there who follow these outdated and quite frankly barbaric verses.

However, unlike Christianity where we refer to Christians as Catholics, Lutherans, Baptists and say the Westboro Baptist Church, we only define Muslims as Muslims. And this is where we fail to understand the differences and how there are as many branches of Islam as there are of Christianity. For instance, the Ahmadiyya Community are often persecuted by other branches of Islam but are considered peaceful and will only defend themselves in extreme cases, but they actually rarely use violence - the Ahmadiyya Community is a branch of Islam. Another branch of Islam is Sufism, Sufis believe in getting closer to Allah in their prayer and rituals (see the video below of a whirling dervish who are sufis).

Both these groups and more are met with hostilities by Wahhabi and Salafist Muslims – Bin Laden, Anjem Choudary and the like..

Sadly, it is through the funding of Saudi mosques that we get a lot of Wahhabi preachers, teaching a very intolerant form of Islam. And in Pakistan the Deobandi branch of Sunni Islam is extremely intolerant too, leading to the rise of Taliban supporting Pakistanis.

And so here is the problem with Islam in the UK. The majority of British Muslims come from the former British India which is now Pakistan, Bangladesh and India as it is today. With them we have imported plenty of Deobandi Muslims who like an extreme version of the religion. Then after a couple of decades they got funding from Saudi religious groups who sent over their preachers who in turn were Wahhabi Muslims, extreme again in their views and not good for community cohesion. That’s not to say British Islam is extreme, we also have Ahmadiyya Muslims here as well as plenty of others, but they just don’t get the funding or the news these days..

But even with the extreme branches of Islam, only a very small minority of those would seek harm to anyone. Sadly, it is those few that get the kills and strike fear into our hearts.

Anyway, if anyone is going to tarnish every Muslim with the Terrorist brush because of those nasty Qurʼanic verses, you might also want to label your God fearing Christian wife an evil woman for following an interpretation of the Bible which has some pretty nasty stuff in it too..

    Thanks Kuya...
Interesting read!! Its a very deep subject that only gets deeper and more bizarre!!
Im sure the subject, the texts and the people in general can be taken out of context and become misunderstood on a regular basis!!
Thats religion in a nut shell as far as I can tell and that why I want nothing to do with it.
It may sound a little strange to many here but my wife says that the Catholic religion is nonsense..
There are often times when I think she may even be an Atheist.. Im still not sure.

How many Christians are following the bible's instructions to go out and kill anyone who doesn't worship god and if an unbelieving woman is pregnant to rip the foetus from her body and tear it apart? I haven't noticed many people suggest that modern Christians are bound to do that, nor are modern Muslims any different.
