Lingerie, and do you buy it for your girlfriend / wife?

    Was chatting with a friend the other day who was taken aback by me admitting to happily strolling into La Senza and picking up some underwear for Joy for gifts:oops:

    So, I was thinking.. Guys, do you ever do the deed and pop into La Senza, Knicker Box, M&S or wherever for some underwear or lingerie for your loved one? And ladies... Do you try and persuade your man to buy you these kinds of personal items, or would you rather go on your own?

    I find it rather sweet and funny (not in a bad way) when a man finds time and spends money on Lingeries for their wife/girlfriend BUT if you are planning to buy one (or more) you should have at least an idea of what she prefers to wear. If you are shy to ask your gf about her preference on lingeries well, filipinas are quite conservative so I would suggest um, not too daring or shocking kind of lingerie perhaps :eek: ... sexy lingeries well, that'll will be next ;) :eek:

    I have no problem with it but from a practical viewpoint have rarely ever needed to.

    My problem with buying anything clothing related is to knowing the right sizes :)

    LOL! now THAT would shock her! LOL! I agree with everyone on what they say about La Senza :like: if you're lucky to find a filipina staff on la senza store then maybe you can ask her some advise :) .... I love the lingerie collection of la senza :like:

    I bought some lingerie for my wife in Bangkok as we couldn't find anything saucy in Cebu City.
    Cebu City seems so old fashioned, we couldn't even find stockings and a garter belt there in the bigger stores.

    Maybe Manila is different, I don't know.

    Thailand is completely different and is like the UK.

    However, I think the husband should be with the wife when they buy lingerie, I think it gives the wife/girlfriend a thrill to choose the colours and have an input on everything else.
    I think it is nice for the husband to be with the wife at this time also, after all it is clothes that are chosen for the best moments :D

    Trouble finding a garter belt and stuff would be an issue for the wedding, but I won't be passing through Bangkok...

    It doesn't matter what I buy, she will find fault with it, and ask me to return it.......
    My wife knows very well what she likes, and my choices do not always hit the mark... If ever...
    :oops:

    So, she is normally present at such purchases, and picks and tries the stuff first...........:erm:

    The element of surprise has been destroyed............

    I've been buying underwear etc for my missus since we met. I suppose I'm lucky as she liked what I brought out from the UK for her. I'd buy a lot of stuff from the figleaves website as you can get some good deals on the designer stuff. I've got no probs going into stores either and fingering the knickers......................ahem anyway moving on!!!

    I'm not sure what shop your buying your wifes pants from Jim, I'd be a bit suspicious if I needed to smell them first! Wearing them on my head is an obvious check though!!

    I bought on-line from LoveHoney.co.uk but that was because the transparent babydoll nighties were not only reduced in price but came with free delivery and a free vibrator! Was not sure how to describe that on the customs form, so it is still sitting in my cupboard for things to take on my next visit!
