I was thinking exactly the same Graham old boy, some unwelcoming comments for sure, not this particular thread but in general new members looking for love get a frosty reception and its completely uncalled for.
I'd suggest there should be a section in this site tagging single forum members as Recently, we have newcomers who are looking for single members. Wish them luck!
i dont see anything unwelcoming or negative in this thread...but i understand admin do make it clear this is not a dating site---for filipine legal reasons i think.
Perhaps that could be explained to newcomers then ? Perhaps some of us who have been members here for 6 or 7 years could also ( as a courtesy ?) have explained to us why we are never to be a 'Trusted Member' too ? I don't have a criminal record... and have never said anything derogatory about this board , here or anywhere else.
I agree Graham, just because you are a member of the other forum should not mean you are not trusted, that goes for @Bootsonground too and any other members over on that side of the fence
must be lots on both forums. i rarely visit the other one these days. who was the guy who was always very vitriolic towards eastern europeans on there ?
I've never been a member there, I'm sure Graham can fill you in. Its only natural you will have members on both sites, I'm sure there are some really pleasant chaps there, they certainly have the best relating to any immigration help in Macawber.
yes--micawber was very helpful to me before i got booted out. another member on both forums offered to get me re-instated---but i really aint interested. i just use it occassionally for research
I am on 4 different forums including this one. Each has a different slant on its objectives. This one for instance in general is more related to issues involving visa and procedures for bringing Philippine wives, gf's to UK. The others more to life and living in the Philippines. Is it considered bad form to belong to other forums?
'Dedworth' was banned a long time ago. (I was never involved in any of the goings-on between the owners of the two boards... and have no interest in board politics ).
Is it considered bad form to belong to other forums i doubt it. its just that several of us got treated very badly by the owner of the other forum referred to--the one that sounds like a florists advert. in my case i was given a permanent ban..on the spot..by the site owner because i dared to challenge him when he was slandering another member who wasnt online at the time.
'Micawber' still posts on the 'other' board. I have no idea why he ( such a valued and knowledgeable member) stopped posting here . As I've said... I don't get involved in such things.
